Hi Sir, My daughter managed to score 100 in Biology in +2. She scored 450 in NEET and 104 in IISER. ALL ARE IN BORDERLINE FOR ADMISSIONS.She has appeared in CUT as well. Her preferred subjects are Biology and Chemistry. What is career prospects course for her to join for a stable career growth and income?
Ans: The life sciences industry demonstrates resilience and growth despite economic fluctuations, with biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors maintaining steady hiring . Environmental science and sustainability fields show accelerating demand driven by regulatory requirements and corporate responsibility initiatives . Research and development sectors continue expanding, particularly in areas like gene therapy, personalized medicine, and environmental biotechnology .

Your daughter's borderline scores in NEET (450 marks) and IISER (104 marks) limit government medical college prospects but open diverse opportunities in biotechnology, environmental science, and chemistry fields through CUET and private institutions . The biotechnology sector offers exceptional career stability with 4-16 LPA salary ranges, 16% employment growth projections, and diverse specialization options spanning pharmaceuticals, research, and environmental applications . Chemistry-based careers provide high earning potential with medicinal chemists earning up to $175,000 annually and strong demand in pharmaceutical and environmental sectors . Environmental science demonstrates robust growth with 7.6 LPA average consultant salaries and increasing demand for sustainability professionals addressing climate change and pollution control . Recommendation: Pursue BSc Biotechnology or BSc Environmental Science through CUET admissions, supplemented with professional certifications in clinical research or bioinformatics, as these fields offer optimal combination of career stability, growth potential, and alignment with her biology-chemistry interests while providing multiple pathways for specialization and advancement. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

NEET, Medical, Pharmacy Careers - Answered on Jul 30, 2025

Hello sir, my daughter has taken 12th science with PCB psychology and she is 12th this year. She will be answering her NEET in 2026. She is firm on getting her neet clear in her first attempt but by chance if that doesn't happen should she take a drop or she should go for other options. As a mother I have selected some options can you please guide me which one will be gud for her. Bds Bpt Pharmacy Btech in food science and technology Btech in biotechnology/ bioinformatics Bsc-msc in forensic science
Ans: Hi Madam,

It's great to see that you are putting in a lot of effort to help your daughter pursue a career in medicine. Before making any decisions, it’s important to consider your daughter's interests. If she is willing to follow your guidance, that's wonderful.

I understand she is in 12th grade this year. If that’s the case, here are some recommendations:

1. Clearing Doubts: Compare the NEET syllabus with the 11th and 12th-grade board syllabus. She will likely have many doubts about each chapter. It’s essential for her to address these doubts daily with the help of her teachers. She can also ask questions about tips, tricks, mnemonics, or easier ways to understand topics. This will help her significantly during exams.

For example:
i) Among the following, which one is highly nonpolar?
a. n-pentane
b. neopentane
c. isopentane

ii) Among the following, which one is more acidic?
a. oxalic acid
b. tartaric acid
c. phthalic acid.

2. Best Plan Consideration: Focus on creating one effective plan rather than thinking about multiple options (Plan A, Plan B, or Plan C). There are many influencers who may confuse you, but you are the best judge of what your daughter needs.

Remember, education should empower us, not the other way around. Select a course that aligns with this philosophy. In that regard, I suggest considering the following three paths:
A. Medicine
B. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
C. Pharmacy (this is a final option since it doesn’t require NEET).

Why these three? Simply put, they allow her to start her own venture. Other courses may be more challenging, and once completed, no one will come knocking on her door. She must acquire the necessary skills while studying.

If she is not fully prepared for the exam this year, let her attempt it to familiarize herself with the exam-related challenges such as tension, time management, confusion, and distractions from peers in the exam hall. Encourage her to practice yoga and meditation to help mitigate these issues. Taking a drop year is not a negative option, but she must continue preparing for the exam and should not sit idly at home. She should create her own study calendar and adhere to it, which will help guide her progress.

If you implement the above suggestions, I am confident she will secure a medical seat comfortably.

BEST WISHES.

Ans: Dear Priyanka,

Thank you for being so honest about everything!

Do you like CA and CS first of all? This is the first question you have to ask yourself!

The next question I want to you ask yourself is, ‘am I scoring less marks because I have not studied / lack of interest or lack of understanding of concepts?’ Seek help if you really want to clear these exams!

Next question is ask yourself , “what comes naturally to me and I love doing it?”. It can be anything…. cooking, baking, teaching, accounting, handling customers in your dad’s office, taking care of office administration, etc, list out everything and then home down to one thing and start working on it with honesty of purpose, let that become your way to earning money!

And please sit and have a heart to heart chat with your parents!
If verbal communication is a problem, write a letter to them… I am giving you options, choose what is comfortable to you , but talk to your parents!

All the very best…
