I have resigned from my company. Please advise about how I can withdraw my PF amount. The company from which I resigned has given me an inactive UAN? How do I solve my problem?

Ans: To withdraw your Provident Fund (PF) amount, follow these steps:

Step 1: Activate Your UAN

1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal:

• Go to EPFO Member Portal.

2. Activate UAN:

• Click on “Activate UAN”
• Enter your UAN, Member ID, Aadhaar, PAN, Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
• Click on “Get Authorisation PIN” and enter the PIN received on your mobile to activate your UAN.

Step 2: Check Your PF Balance

1. Login to UAN Member Portal:

• Use your UAN and password to log in.

2. View Passbook:

• Go to the “View Passbook” section to check your PF balance.

Step 3: Update KYC Details

1. Update KYC Information:

• In the UAN portal, go to “Manage” > “KYC”.
• Update your Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, and other KYC information.
• Ensure your KYC details are verified by your employer.

Step 4: Submit Withdrawal Claim

1. Online Withdrawal:

• Once your KYC details are updated and verified, go to “Online Services” > “Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)”.
• Verify your bank account details and click on “Proceed for Online Claim”.
• Select the type of claim you need (full PF settlement, pension withdrawal, etc.).
• Fill in the necessary details and submit the claim.

2. Offline Withdrawal (if Online isn't possible):

• Download Form 19 (for PF withdrawal) and Form 10C (for pension withdrawal) from the EPFO website.
• Fill out the forms and attach necessary documents (Aadhaar, PAN, cancelled cheque, etc.).
• Submit the forms to the regional EPFO office or through your previous employer.

Troubleshooting Inactive UAN Issues

1. Contact EPFO:

• If your UAN is inactive, contact EPFO through their helpline number or email.
• You can also visit the nearest EPFO office for assistance.

2. Employer Assistance:

• Contact your previous employer’s HR department to activate your UAN and update your details.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully withdraw your PF amount. If you encounter any issues, visiting the EPFO office for direct assistance is a good option.

Hi Sir, I had worked in one company from 2003-2006 and PF was not withdrawn or transferred. But that company is not existing now as it was acquired by other company. How do I withdraw the PF Balance amount. Thanks & Regards, Raghavendra
Ans: It can be tricky to access your PF balance when the company no longer exists. Here are some steps you can take to retrieve your PF balance:

1. Gather Your Documents:

• UAN (Universal Account Number): You can check your UAN on your pay slips from the past employer or by logging in to the EPFO website if you remember your PF account number.
• PF Account Number: If you don't have a UAN, you'll need your PF account number, which was usually mentioned on your salary slips.
• Company Details: Try to gather any information you can about the company you worked for, such as its previous name, acquiring company's name (if known), and the date of acquisition.

2. Withdrawal Process:
Option 1: Online (if you have UAN):
• Log in to the EPFO Member Interface using your UAN and registered mobile number.
• Go to the "Services" tab and select "Claim Settlement."
• Choose the appropriate withdrawal form based on your reason for withdrawal (Form 10C for full withdrawal, etc.).
• Fill in the details for the account you want to withdraw from (specify "previous employer" if you don't see it automatically).
• Enter the company details you have as "Establishment Type" and mention "Closed Establishment" in the remarks section.
• Submit the claim form with all required documents (scanned copies).

Option 2: Offline (if no UAN):
• Download the appropriate withdrawal form for non-UAN members (Composite Claim Form).
• Fill in the form with your details and company information.
• Get the form attested by a bank manager or gazetted officer.
• Submit the completed form with supporting documents to the Regional PF Office having jurisdiction over your previous employer's location.
3. Follow Up:
• Whether you apply online or offline, keep track of your claim status regularly. You can do this through the EPFO website or by contacting the regional PF office.
• If you remember the acquiring company's name, contacting their HR department might also be helpful. They might have records of your previous company's employees and PF accounts.

Sir I have enrolled in an offline fiitjee coaching but I don't like it there..the teachers, their system of giving problems, their explanations,it is also very far from my home .i have purchased pw online batch and I am really liking their content. Should I quit fiitjee
Ans: When we compare FITJEE, Allen & Aakash, it should be noted (1) Study materials / most of the Questions provided, are much-advanced. Most students will not be able to crack all questions and easily get demotivated (2) Allen's Study Materials are good, containing easiest to difficult questions and concepts in detail. (3) Quantity of study materials of Aakash is less and level of difficulty of questions are mostly easy to medium. However, coming to the point, please go ahead with PW-Online Course.

Here are some PRACTICAL Strategies / Steps / Tips you should follow for your JEE Preparation:

(1) Whenever you study at home, study for 45-minutes. Then take a break of 10-minutes when you can move away from your study table, walk, have some water & relax. If you continue studying beyond 45-minutes, your concentration power will go down, resulting to low output. Most students commit this mistake. (2) On daily basis (morning or evening whichever will be convenient to you), do yoga or meditation or physical exercises or play any games / sports for at least 30-45 minutes. This will further reduce your stress / distractions. (3) Study tough topics / tough subjects (applicable to you) early morning with your fresh mind. (4) Eat a lot of green vegetables / fruits which you can afford for & Avoid soft drinks (5) Every day night, before going to bed, revise whatever you have studied during the day. (6) Also, revise every week whatever you have covered till date (here your short-notes which you should prepare will be helpful). (7) Keep practising questions on topics which you have covered either offline or online (8) Give utmost importance to wrongly answered / difficult / complicated / tough questions and have a separate note-book specially for this for each subject (PCM) (8) You might be aware that JEE rank is allotted on the basis of highest score in Maths, followed by Physics & Chemistry. Practice more and more in Maths, till you reach Speed & Accuracy (9) By the end of 9th/10th/11th/12th standard (December-January)(depends upon which standard you are in), attempt fully syllabus online test series, evaluate and analyse your performance such as, (a) which topic / unit / concept you are weak which needs your revision and improvement as this will disturb you when you appear in actual JEE exam (b) abnormal time taken to attempt any question which you can come to know from Online Test Series which you should reduce (c) which questions you skipped and why? (10) Please AVOID studying under pressure that you should get admission only into IITs/ NITs. Never advisable. Any one can be successful, even if he / she studies in NON-IIT / NON-NIT Colleges also. (11) Have Plan B & Plan C for other Colleges Entrance Exams / Disciplines-Streams. (11) Avoid comparing yourself with other students. (12) Also, it is highly ideal to appear in / attempt minimum 5-Entrance Exams (for both Govt & Private Engineering Colleges). You will have a lot of options (easiest method) to choose the best and most suitable one, keeping in view a lot of factors such as, College | Location | Your Interest | Stream Preference | Placement Records | College Culture | Your Short & Long Term Goals | Pressure You Can Go Through | Your AIR & Job Market Condition when you apply for your BTech & Even after. I hope I have answered to your question with value additions.

All the BEST for your Bright Future.
