Hi Sir/Maam, I'm currently working in a US based company since 1.5 years and my employers says that they don't have PF law in US so PF will not be deducted from my salary so my PF account is inactive since 1.5 years. UAN portal shows that my bank details aren't updated so I entered the bank details and submitted in UAN portal. This has to be now approved by my previous employer as my current employer has not created a PF account. However, I had left my previous organization after a fight with my boss so it was not a smooth exit and I didn't even serve the notice period there. I just dropped my resignation email and walked out of the office on the same day. Now my previous employer has not approved my bank KYC details since 3 months and I even cannot reach out to them, as my exit from there was very unpleasant. PF office is saying that they can't do anything from their end and it has to be approved by my previous employer but I can't go back to them requesting to approve. Please suggest me how can I withdraw my PF amount?

Ans: Hello;

You may try to talk to the HR people at your previous organisation.

Regret for the improper exit and try to see if you can make things work.

Sorting out things amicably is suitable option for both.

Else you may lodge a grievance on EPFO grievance management portal EPFiGMS.

If this doesn't resolve the matter you may escalate it to Ministry of Labour through CPGRAMS.

You will get your EPF money no doubt about it.

Best wishes!!

Hi, I am 56 yrs old man and want to withdraw my pf which was earned long back in 2011-12 when the system was not online connected. Now the problem is that my KYC is not updated and employer is also not in place. So kindly suggest that how can I get it done
Ans: If your KYC is not updated and your previous employer is not available, you may face challenges in withdrawing your PF. However, you can take the following steps to resolve the issue:

Contact EPFO: Reach out to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) for guidance and assistance. They may provide you with information on the necessary steps to update your KYC and facilitate the withdrawal process.

KYC Update: Update your KYC documents such as Aadhar card, PAN card, bank account details, etc., through the EPFO portal or by visiting the nearest EPFO office. This will authenticate your identity and facilitate the withdrawal process.

Claim Process: Initiate the withdrawal process through the EPFO portal by submitting the required forms and documents. You may need to provide details such as your PF account number, personal information, employment history, etc.

Legal Assistance: If you encounter difficulties in the process or require legal guidance, consider consulting a lawyer who specializes in PF and employment-related matters. They can provide you with personalized advice and assist you in resolving any legal issues.

Follow-up: Stay proactive and follow up regularly with EPFO officials to track the progress of your withdrawal request and address any issues that may arise during the process.

Seek Employer's Assistance: If possible, try to locate your previous employer or their authorized representative who can assist you in the KYC update and withdrawal process. They may have records or information that could facilitate the process.

Remember to exercise patience and persistence throughout the process, as resolving issues related to PF withdrawal may take time.

I have resigned from my company. Please advise about how I can withdraw my PF amount. The company from which I resigned has given me an inactive UAN? How do I solve my problem?
Ans: To withdraw your Provident Fund (PF) amount, follow these steps:

Step 1: Activate Your UAN

1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal:

• Go to EPFO Member Portal.

2. Activate UAN:

• Click on “Activate UAN”
• Enter your UAN, Member ID, Aadhaar, PAN, Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
• Click on “Get Authorisation PIN” and enter the PIN received on your mobile to activate your UAN.

Step 2: Check Your PF Balance

1. Login to UAN Member Portal:

• Use your UAN and password to log in.

2. View Passbook:

• Go to the “View Passbook” section to check your PF balance.

Step 3: Update KYC Details

1. Update KYC Information:

• In the UAN portal, go to “Manage” > “KYC”.
• Update your Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, and other KYC information.
• Ensure your KYC details are verified by your employer.

Step 4: Submit Withdrawal Claim

1. Online Withdrawal:

• Once your KYC details are updated and verified, go to “Online Services” > “Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)”.
• Verify your bank account details and click on “Proceed for Online Claim”.
• Select the type of claim you need (full PF settlement, pension withdrawal, etc.).
• Fill in the necessary details and submit the claim.

2. Offline Withdrawal (if Online isn't possible):

• Download Form 19 (for PF withdrawal) and Form 10C (for pension withdrawal) from the EPFO website.
• Fill out the forms and attach necessary documents (Aadhaar, PAN, cancelled cheque, etc.).
• Submit the forms to the regional EPFO office or through your previous employer.

Troubleshooting Inactive UAN Issues

1. Contact EPFO:

• If your UAN is inactive, contact EPFO through their helpline number or email.
• You can also visit the nearest EPFO office for assistance.

2. Employer Assistance:

• Contact your previous employer’s HR department to activate your UAN and update your details.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully withdraw your PF amount. If you encounter any issues, visiting the EPFO office for direct assistance is a good option.

Career
Sir, my daughter got 88% in xii science with PCMB in 2025. She obtained around 87 percentile in JEE and with good rank she is expected to seal a seal in b.tech marine engg in IMU Kolkata and also in integrated M.Tech softeare in VIT Bhopal. Though, JoSSA she may get lower branches in gfti. Since, she is good in academic, my intention was to convince her for Acad courses for teachhng at school or college level. I and my wife are school teachers and really unaware of scope in the above areas. Will you please guide me, what will be good for her, in term of her long promising career. We hail from General Category. Regards
Ans: For a long-term career, Integrated M.Tech Software Engineering at VIT Bhopal (90–95% placements, Amazon/Microsoft recruiters) offers versatile tech opportunities in AI/ML, data science, and software roles, aligning with industry growth and providing flexibility for academia via research or teaching roles post-M.Tech. Marine Engineering at IMU Kolkata (80–90% placements, Chevron/NYK recruiters) is ideal for niche maritime careers but limits diversification outside core shipping sectors. While GFTI lower branches (e.g., Civil/Mechanical) via JoSSA ensure institutional prestige, they may lack alignment with her academic strengths (PCMB) and tech aspirations. For academia, a B.Ed + M.Ed pathway (UGC NET eligibility) offers stable teaching careers but underutilizes her engineering potential. Prioritize VIT Bhopal for tech innovation and interdisciplinary growth, leveraging its coding ecosystems and global collaborations. If inclined toward teaching, pursue M.Tech + Ph.D. post-engineering for lecturer roles. Backup options include MBA for managerial pathways or government technical roles via GATE. Confirm curriculum depth and internship support during enrollment. All the BEST for your Daughter's Admission & a Prosperous Future!
