In my online PF membership login through UAN, I am not able to mark my exit in the “Mark Exit” section as “no employment records found” remark is coming in this section. However, my Service History as well as all other details are correctly & completely updated. I left employment around 3 years ago. Unless I mark exit, I can’t make a PF claim. My query is whether this is a PF backend issue which needs to be raised directly to EPFO. I had informed my ex-employer as well, but they haven’t provided me any revert to this issue to date. Can my ex-employer also mark my exit directly on my behalf? Please suggest a suitable course of action, which I should press forward so that my mark exit can be completed.

I have Worked in a Company at MUMBAI from FEBRUARY 2004 up to FEBRUARY 2017.... The HEAD OFFICE of this Company is in DELHI and thus the EPFO ACCOUNT and It's RECORDS / HR Desk too are Maintained and Based at DELHI EPFO OFFICE. During this Service I was Even Posted in VADODARA for TWO YEARS. A New EPFO ACCOUNT NUMBER Was Created with GUJARAT PF OFFICE and PF DEDUCTIONS and EMPLOYER'S CONTRIBUTION were Duly Made in this PF Account. Upon My RETURN Back to MUMBAI the BALANCE of this GUJARAT PF ACCOUNT was Duly TRANSFERRED To the DELHI Office and the PF ACCOUNT AT DELHI H.O. SUBSEQUENTLY UPON BEING BY AN AUSTRALIAN BRAND THE COMPANY FROM APRIL 2008 ONWARDS IMPLEMENTED and MIGRATED ON TO THE EPFO's ONLINE MODULE i.e. *UAN* PORTAL AND THUS THE PREVIOUS PF DATA WAS TRANSFERRED AND UPLOADED UNDER THE UAN ACCOUNT No. In 2017 UPON MY EXIT THE PF BALANCE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE PF ACCOUNT OF MY NEW EMPLOYER BEING MAINTAINED AT COIMBATORE. *UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE NO DETAILS OR DATA OF MY PF ACCOUNT UPLOADED and THUS NOT SHOWING / REFLECTING ON THE EPFO UAN PORTAL FOR THE PERIOD FEBRUARY 2004 up to MARCH 2008..... I have resigned from my company. Please advise about how I can withdraw my PF amount. The company from which I resigned has given me an inactive UAN? How do I solve my problem?
Ans: To withdraw your Provident Fund (PF) amount, follow these steps:

Step 1: Activate Your UAN

1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal:

• Go to EPFO Member Portal.

2. Activate UAN:

• Click on “Activate UAN”
• Enter your UAN, Member ID, Aadhaar, PAN, Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
• Click on “Get Authorisation PIN” and enter the PIN received on your mobile to activate your UAN.

Step 2: Check Your PF Balance

1. Login to UAN Member Portal:

• Use your UAN and password to log in.

2. View Passbook:

• Go to the “View Passbook” section to check your PF balance.

Step 3: Update KYC Details

1. Update KYC Information:

• In the UAN portal, go to “Manage” > “KYC”.
• Update your Aadhaar, PAN, Bank details, and other KYC information.
• Ensure your KYC details are verified by your employer.

Step 4: Submit Withdrawal Claim

1. Online Withdrawal:

• Once your KYC details are updated and verified, go to “Online Services” > “Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)”.

It's great to hear that you have six years of experience in Quality Control (QC). As you know, QC roles are generally onsite, unlike IT roles that can often be done remotely. Given your expertise in QC, you have the option to transition to Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs (RA), or the Validation team, but we need to assess the feasibility of such a shift. While it is uncommon, it is possible to find roles in RA, such as preparing and submitting documents, pharmacovigilance, or medical scribing. However, since these are not your areas of expertise, if you choose to pursue them, you may be considered a fresher in those fields.

You also mentioned that need to work long hours. Even with work from home (WFH), you will likely face similar challenges; once you log in, you cannot skip the tasks assigned to you. Being at home may hinder your ability to care for your children, creating additional difficulties.

If you are financially stable, you might consider quitting your current job to find other opportunities or to take care of your family. If not, you will need to weigh your options carefully.

My recommendation is to prefer onsite work rather than WFH.

On a lighter note, there are many advantages to onsite work that can actually save you money—such as reduced electricity bills, food expenses, and travel costs. Compared to WFH, where you may incur higher electricity costs due to using AC and your computer, along with food expenses for snacks and meals.

Logically speaking, as a working woman, if your maid were asking for a WFH arrangement, how would you respond?

As an additional suggestion, you might consider applying for government jobs as a Junior or Senior Analyst in your state’s Drug Testing Lab within the Drugs Control Department.

Ultimately, I recommend that you continue in your current field and potentially explore opportunities in a different company or industry that offers a higher salary. Alternatively, you could also consider transitioning to QA, but ideally in an onsite position.
