I have been investing for two years in ICICI Opportunities Fund and ICICI Transportation and Logistics Fund. Will it be fruitful to continue with this two for next eight years? If not please advise.

Ans: Hello Biswajit & thanks for writing to me. ICICI Prudential Opportunities Fund is a thematic fund invests in special situations like corporate restructuring, policy changes & ICICI Prudential Transportation & Logistics Fund invests in companies that are in the transport & logistics sector. These are both good funds.

When investing in the Transport & Logistics theme, you need to understand that in case of sectoral & thematic funds, you may face some period of underperformance and outperformance & you need to be able to gauge the sectoral structure of the industries before making an informed decision.

I recommend you meet a financial planner who can understand your own preferences, risk appetite & goals to recommend a portfolio of mutual funds that suit you.

Hello Sir I m investing 9000 in SBI small cap & 9000 in Quant small cap in Feb'2024. Also 6000 in Parag Parikh Flexi Cap and 6000 in Quant Flexi Cap for the period for 20+ years. Please review my funds. Is these are good to continue.
Ans: It's commendable that you're investing with a long-term horizon in mind. Let's review your fund choices:

SBI Small Cap: Small-cap funds typically carry higher risk but also the potential for higher returns over the long term. Given your investment horizon of 20+ years, investing in small-cap funds can be a sound strategy, as they have the potential to outperform over extended periods.

Quant Small Cap: Similar to SBI Small Cap, Quant Small Cap also falls into the small-cap category. It's essential to understand that small-cap funds can be volatile in the short term but may offer significant growth opportunities over the long run.

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap: Flexi-cap funds provide flexibility to invest across market capitalizations based on market conditions. Parag Parikh Flexi Cap is known for its diversified approach and focus on quality stocks. It's a suitable choice for long-term investors seeking exposure to a mix of large, mid, and small-cap stocks.

Quant Flexi Cap: Flexi-cap funds like Quant Flexi Cap offer flexibility in asset allocation, allowing the fund manager to adapt to changing market conditions. While Quant Flexi Cap may provide growth opportunities, it's essential to monitor its performance and ensure it aligns with your investment objectives.

Overall, your fund selection reflects a diversified approach across small-cap and flexi-cap categories, which can potentially provide robust growth prospects over the long term. However, it's essential to regularly review your investments to ensure they remain aligned with your financial goals and risk tolerance.

Consider consulting with a Certified Financial Planner periodically to reassess your investment strategy and make any necessary adjustments based on changing market dynamics and personal circumstances.

Hi My daughter get 72 percentile in jee mains 1 i dont know what happened to her otherwise she is a good student scored 94% in her 10th boards ..if i will look for some private engineering college in india pls suggest i will go with pune or will look for management quota seat for csc from banglore. Pls suggest preference order of btech college in banglore
Ans: Hello Vandana.
Requesting you not to panic at this early stage. Let her appear for JEE session 2 and the state-level engineering entrance test. Let all the results out. You have ample time to think about the available options for engineering admission. At this stage, no need to think about management quota unless and until you want a particular branch in a particular college. Depending on her score in upcoming exams, she may get admission to reputed engineering either in Pune or Bengaluru
Here are some colleges in Bengaluru: (1) R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) (2) B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) (3) M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) (4) PES University (5) Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) (6) Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) (7) Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (SMVIT) (8) BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT&M) (9) Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) (10) RNS Institute of Technology (RNSIT)
Suggestion - Don't panic. Keep cool yourself. Ask your daughter to focus more on JEE 2nd attempt and state-level engineering entrance test.

If you are satisfied with the reply, pl follow me or else ask again without hesitation.
Thanks
Radheshyam
