Type 2 diabetes: Sir I am 43 year old, my HBA1c is 5.4 from last one year. It was 5.7 11 months ago. However my fasting sugar is 131. It was 138,7 months before. Do I considered as diabetic or pro diabetic. My weight is also I am consistently maintaing between 66 to 68 kgs. I have problem with my sleeping as I will get thirsty in the early morning & not getting sleep. Please advise should I start any medication. Is there any way I reverse it

Ans: Please get oral glucose tolerance tests done.
Alternatively, please get Blood sugar fasting, Blood sugar 2 hr and Hba1c done.
Based upon currently available HbA1c values, you are neither pre or diabetic. However, fasting are high. We need to see 2 hr post meal blood sugar levels.
The clinical symptoms are suggestive of diabetes.

In short, need a more systematic approach to investigations and making diagnosis.
