My six-year-old son has always been very active. But for the last couple of days, he has seemed extra restless and has had trouble sitting still, even for short periods. Should we monitor for ADHD? What are some of the signs he may have ADHD?

Ans: ADHD presents as inability to sit at a place for a length of time, inability to complete a task, inability to concentrate without getting distracted and disturbing others in class. If the teachers are complaining of such behaviour then consult a child psychologist

Hi Dr Karthiyayini My son is 5 and extremely restless at school. He is academically bright and gets an A always but he is impatient, extremely naughty and very messy in his work. Nowadays he gets reprimanded too often because of his behaviour. What can I do to help him?

Ans: We need to look in to his source of the energy of which your son is, restless.Balanced diet to the body and age appropriate sensory diet for the mind are important. High glycemic index food, through fast food and sugars bring in restlessness Also unwanted sensory impressions through the media is another area which needs to be looked at

Doctor my 10 year old son is in 5th grade. Since his childhood he has been a very active kid. For the past 18 months he is finding it difficult to concentrate on tasks involving his mind like board games/home work etc. Even at home he would be constantly engage in physical activities and would not sit idle. His handwriting is horrible and his grades have hit rock bottom. Should we consult a doctor?

I have done pcb in class 12th then i gave neet for 3 drops and failed..i was getting course adm beside mbbs bds in private colleges but i didnt took it now i dont want to study all this..im thinking now to give cat..I'm thinking to take bcom in finance and accounting from local colleges in city should i go for it or not? Im confused? Ans: Can do 3 year BCom course and then prepare for MBA entrance exam like CAT. Do a specialised course like agriculture or nursing only if you are interested in it.

In 2023 I had given Ipmat exam along with Narsee Mojee and Mit for bba programee. I got selected in both narsee monjee and mit and got 30 marks less than the cut off in ipmat. Then in 2024 i had taken admission in a private college for bba and had given ipmat once again. And i had failed once again. Now I got stuck in this college for 2 more years. And is blind regarding what to do in future. Thinking about Cfa but its is costly and I cant afford to fail more than once in it.

Ans: Can do CFA course now along with your BBA. You can simultaneously start preparing for CAT26. Your IPMAT preparation would help you for CAT.

I pursued commerce in 12th and got 79 percent with maths in 12th i was preparing for Ipmat and got 245 marks in obc category and also got selected in nmims and mit for bba programme . But later i decided to get a dummy college for bba and once again prepare for ipmat but now i failed in the exam and i got stuck in the tier 3 college. I am confused what to pursue next . I am confused between cfa . Cat or mba from abroad.

My son got less than satisfactory marks in 12th board but has got chance in a private engineering college in biomedical engineering b.tech after scoring very good marks in their entrance exam. Please let me know about the prospects of B.tech in BME.

Ans: Biomedical Engineering - the scope is working in hospitals or companies that manufacture and sell these equipment. In India as of now there is not much scope for research in this field.
