I have a neck pain towards my lleft side every morning, and subsides after 1/2 hr, if i do neck excersies it subsides within 5-10 mins. but again this comes next day, and everyday morning. it is also accompanied by some increase in tinnitus for same duration in my left ear, though milder tinnitus is prevalent throughout the day

Ans: Hello S,
What investigations have you already done?
This could be some inner ear canal issue or it could be related trigger points in certain neck muscles like the scalene or sternocleidomastoid muscle.
You need to first rule out if it is related to an ear issue by going to an ENT. If that is clear then a physiotherapist should be able to help you by doing some techniques like myofascial release for the neck muscles or vestibular rehabilitation.

Hello Doctor, I have pain on my back neck running till my right hand end. What is the reason & which specialist I should visit?

Ans: Pain in the neck could be due to postural defects. Holding head in an odd while working, or while sleeping could be the reason.
Now the pain radiating to the right hand end denotes that there is a nerve involvement at the root level.
This could be due degenerating cervical vertebra with disc protrusion pressing on the nerve roots.
You need to meet a neurologist and get the corrections in your ergonamics

Thanks Dr. Nidhi for your quick answer . Actually I am suffering from this pain (on and off) since 2 years . Initially it was muscle spasam I was completely alright for 7-8 months but may be due to my International travelling job i got pain again. Now since 2-3 months doing physio exercises. I am having soreness felling not pain so it may by pinched nerve in the cervical area. I am working as VP in one company so very active job . Please advice further . Ready to take your consultation on phone also

Ans: Hello Trupti, yes travel can worsen the pain. Once we do the consult we will know whether it is cervical related or trapezius muscle spasm related. Accordingly we will guide you regarding the exact treatment.

Ans: Hello Srinivasa,
It would be better to visit a professional like an orthopedic/physiotherapist. They will need to check and understand the cause whether it is related to cervical bones or muscles. Accordingly the treatment can be given like Ultrasound, muscle trigger release, certain exercises or bone mobilisation.
Also you need to probably check your Vit D3/Vit B12 levels.

Sir my daughter scored 73.8 in 10+2 but maths percentile is very low @ 46. She wish to appear in BITSAT. Can she be eligible if she improves her score in improvement exam to be held in July by CBSE?

Ans: Eligibility for BITS Pilani Admission:
Minimum Requirement: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in these three subjects or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.

BITS also requires minimum 60% marks in each of these subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Yes! If she improves her aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to 75% or above, she will meet the minimum eligibility criteria for BITSAT.
But my suggestion is to avoid engineering, because almost all streams in engineering require B.Sc. level math.
