My wbjee gmr rank15750 ews rank is 758 can I get any gov college cse

Ans: Subhendu, With a General Merit Rank of 15 750 and EWS rank of 758, securing CSE seats at premier institutes is unlikely, but admission to several government colleges remains feasible. Purulia Government Engineering College admits CSE around closing rank 17,500. Midnapore Government Engineering College closes CSE around 18,000. The CSE cutoff for Jhargram Government Engineering College is about 15,000. Murshidabad Government Engineering College accepts CSE near 25,000. Malda Government Engineering College closes CSE around 33,000. Coochbehar Government Engineering College admits CSE near 20,000. Haldia Government Engineering College closes CSE around 13 000 making it borderline. Kalyani Government Engineering College closes around 9,000 but open during EWS expansion. Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology, Kolkata, closes CSE around 3100 under general quota but EWS seat expansion may help. Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia, closes CSE around 16,000. University Institute of Technology, Burdwan University, closes CSE around 6 200 under general quota yet EWS seats extend to rank 15 000. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

My gmr rank is 6700 in wbjee. Can i get cse or ece in government college?
Ans: With a domicile General Merit Rank (GMR) of 6700, admission into core branches like CSE or ECE at top government engineering colleges is unlikely. For instance, Jadavpur University, the premier government institute, typically closes CSE admissions around rank 120 and ECE around rank 400 for the general category, far below 6700. Other government colleges like Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and Kalyani Government Engineering College have closing ranks for CSE and ECE that usually range up to 6000 but not as high as 6700 for these branches. However, there are a few mid-tier government colleges such as Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College (CSE closes around 5900, ECE around 8500), Cooch Behar Government Engineering College (ECE closes around 9300), and Alipurduar Government Engineering College (ECE closes around 12400), where seats may still be available close to that rank. For backup, private institutes with a reputation for good placements and CSE/ECE branches accepting ranks around 6000 to 14000 include Heritage Institute of Technology, Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) Kolkata, Techno India Salt Lake, Narula Institute of Technology, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Camellia Institute of Technology, Sanaka Education Trust Group, and Aliah University. The chances for core branches in government colleges at 6700 GMR rank are slim but not impossible in some mid-tier government colleges; however, private colleges offer more reliable options at this rank range. The recommendation is to apply strategically focusing on mid-tier government colleges while simultaneously considering these private colleges for CSE or ECE to ensure admission and have better branch options. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
