Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), he holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and a an MTech degree in computer technology from Jadavpur University.

Ans: Yes Anu Madam, she can go ahead with CIT-Chennai which has good placement records. However, she should keep upgrading her skills from 1st year itself till her Campus Placement during her last year, from LinkedIn, NPTEL, Coursera, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by her College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students, for jobs.

Ans: Please mention your cutoff score of TNEA. If you get a seat at CIT, you can go for it as CIT is also one of the reputed Institutes with good placement records. Be Confident & put in more effort. You will get through. Advise your daughter to keep upgrading her skills whenever possible. Please ask her to focus on mastering the high-weightage basics in each subject in the following way.
Mathematics:- (1) Algebra: Quadratic Equations, Complex Numbers, Binomial Theorem, Sequences & Series (2) Calculus: Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, Application of Derivatives, Definite & Indefinite Integrals (3) Coordinate Geometry: Straight Lines, Circles, Parabola, Ellipse, Hyperbola (4) Vectors & 3D: Equation of Lines & Planes, Vector Algebra (5) Probability & Statistics: Basic Probability, Bayes' Theorem, Mean & Variance. Do basic revision on NCERT Class 11 & 12 concepts, Basic formulas and shortcut tricks and Graphs and visualization for functions.

Ans: With an 84th percentile in JEE Main as an OBC candidate, you have a decent chance of getting into some NITs (low ranked) and other good engineering colleges, but it's unlikely you'll get into the very top ones.

Ans: With 91.23 percentile in JEE Main 2025 (Session 1) and EWS category with Home State quota in Tripura, your chances for ECE at NIT Agartala are quite good.
