This year KCET ranks have gone up phenomenally. Will this mean cut offs of last year of various colleges will also go high.

Ans: Mahesh, he significant upward shift in KCET ranks this year means that cutoff ranks for various colleges are also likely to increase compared to last year. This is because, with more students getting higher (worse) ranks, the closing ranks for admissions will move up, making it possible for students with higher ranks to secure seats in colleges and branches that previously required better ranks. However, the extent of this increase will depend on factors such as the number of qualified candidates, exam difficulty, seat availability, and demand for specific branches and colleges. For top branches like CSE in premier colleges, cutoffs will remain competitive but are expected to shift higher by a few thousand ranks. For less popular branches and colleges, the cutoff increase may be even more noticeable. All the best for your admission and a bright future!
