A gold medallist, he has cracked the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) twice -- in 1993 and 1994 -- with an All India Rank of 14 in 1994.

Hello sir,I'm bsc graduate from tier3 clg.i was planning masters but I'm confused whether I should go for MSc ds and ai from mithibai clg or should I go for MCA?Also recently I was going through UPSC Exam details and opportunities.So I wanna know which path is good?

Ans: I believe M.Sc. is better

I am doing BSc(IT) and want to know whether MSc(IT)/ MSc(CS) or MCA is good for further studies? I would like to seek your opinion as which field would have most scope and future growth. I aspire to go aboard post my master in India for MS in USA. What's your opinion? Please note I am born 100% blind and use NVDA Screen reader for my studies.

Hi i had done my graduation in 2021 in bsc chemistry. Since that was covid time i didn't know much about my graduation subject hence didn't go for msc and started preparing for upsc now after 3 years seeing the failure rate of it and seeing seniors of mine giving there last attempt. I can't think myself at that stage of life so now i am confused should i go for mba or mca since mca will be total domain change but i will get a package and now i have time to try IT sector but i dont know what if in future i think i choose wrong path. I am totally confused

Ans: Dear,

There is a proverb "One who knows his weaknesses and strengths can't be treated as a fool until he really fails to improve upon his weaknesses" . I am happy that you are aware about your weak areas .

To get a job of choice is a bliss and only those who are lucky get them. UPSC or MCA to get into for IT sector ,may not be a rational option and may take time to get a job of choice. However Your qualification can easily
get you into sector like Pharma sales , FMCG/FMCD / Industrial sales , banking or finance sector sales/ops etc apart from MBA if you have time and
patience ,

These options are definitely not bad if you are in dire need of a job. Now without wasting time get into suggested sectors.

Ans: Try to increase your qualification by doing MCA etc. Develop your skill set on advance topics like AI, DS etc by doing online course. Then probability of getting job will increase.

I HAVE CARE HEALTH INSURANCE BASE POLICY 1000000 FOR 2 A+ 1 K , AGED 60 YEARS, 45 YEAR AND 16 YEARS. AND FROM THE LAST 15 YEARS NO CLAIM. 2023 I PORTED MY MEDICLAIM POLICY FROM NATIONAL INSURANCE TO CARE HEALTH INSURANCE WITH 1000000 L BASE AND 50% NCB. I GOT A RENEWAL ON DEC/24 AND NCB 50% WAS ADDED WITH MY BASE INSURANCE. NOW I WANTED TO TAKE A SUPER TOP-UP OF NIVA BUPA HEALTH RECHARGE OF 90 LAKH . IS IT GOOD FOR MY FAMILY ? PL ADVISE ME .

Just check on the deductible, sub-limits on some diseases if any, cap on room rent, if any. Any exclusions.

For salaried professionals investing in equity, does this market crash affect the benefits of Section 80C investments, such as ULIPs or ELSS, which are tied to market performance?

Anything and everything connected with the market will get affected by market volatility. (ULIPs & ELSS too)

However for investors it is like a grand new year sale.

Continue your regular investments and also do lumpsum, if possible, at every sharp decline.

Only those whose target horizon is near should withdraw their gains from equity funds. They can begin fresh investments for some other financial goal.

Tks a lot for the clear answers to my queries regarding transmission of shares. However, I would like some more clarification on custodial account for shares entitled to C. Custodial account for C will mean a brokerage account in name of C under guardianship of B or an account in name of B but under some category called as Custodial accounts? Alternatively, can the shares entitled for C be sold by B as C's legal guardian and then the sale proceeds be brought in India directly in a bank account in name of C under B's guardianship? Thanks in advance for the support.

Ans: A custodial account for shares typically means a brokerage account held in the name of the minor (C) but managed by the guardian (B). This allows the guardian to oversee the account and make investment decisions on behalf of the minor.
Alternatively, the shares entitled to C can indeed be sold by B as C's legal guardian. The proceeds from the sale can then be brought into India and deposited into a bank account in C's name, under B's guardianship. However, it's important to ensure that all legal requirements and permissions are met, especially if the shares are part of a larger estate or property.

I am in the process of buying raw materials from different states for my manufacturing unit. How does the GST structure affect inter-state purchases, and how can I reclaim the input tax credit (ITC) on these transactions?

Ans: 01. All purchases, may be from different states, should have your GST number on it, so that your GST paid is reflected in GSTR-2B.
02. While filing your GST Returns, you can off set your GST liability with the ITC, as reflected in GSTR-2B.

Sir, I purchased a flat in 1999 for 3 Lakhs, now in 2025 I am going to sell it for 35 Lakhs. Will there be any Capital Gain Tax on it?

Ans: 01. Yes. This transaction would be subject to Capital Gain Tax.
02. Under present provisions of Income Tax Act, you may opt any of the options (in case of Long Term Capital Gains), as under :
(a). Tax Rate 12.50% without indexation or
(b). Tax Rate of 20% with Indexation.
03. You may calculate your tax liability under both options & may opt for the tax regime, where tax liability is minimum.

If money is transferred to his mother (non earning Sr Ctz housewife) from Son's account, would the interest income on FD or SCSS investment made by his mother in her name be clubbed with husband's (retired Sr Ctz) income ?

Ans: No. Such income cannot be clubbed with the income of her husband, since the amount was not transferred by her husband to her account.
