Sir, my son has got a B.Tech ECE seat in MIT, Manipal. Now he also got a seat in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of technology for B.Tech in Petroleum engineering. How to decide on this two options. Your suggestions are more valuable than anything else. Please tell me how to choose?

Ans: Hello Naveena, Instead of competing in a rat race for CSE/ECE/EE/IT etc., it is suggested to consider Petroleum Engineering at RGIT for better career opportunities with less competition compared to tech branches. The final decision will be yours.
Good luck!

My son has secured a seat in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at MIT Manipal with a rank of 12.2k in MET. He has also secured a seat in Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore under fee category 3. Which one should we prefer? Interest and fee is not a problem as my son has no particular inclination towards any field.
Ans: Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at MIT Manipal is preferable over Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore under fee category 3, as MIT Manipal offers a more modern, multidisciplinary curriculum with strong industry relevance in automation, control, and electronics, supported by state-of-the-art labs and a placement rate above 90% for related branches, with top recruiters from both core and IT sectors participating regularly. Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore, while offered at a reputable institution, currently has a lower placement rate of around 50%, with many students opting for non-core roles and fewer opportunities in core mechanical sectors. Both colleges provide excellent infrastructure and campus life, but MIT Manipal’s Electronics and Instrumentation program stands out for its higher placement percentage, broader career scope in emerging technologies, and robust academic ecosystem. The recommendation is to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at MIT Manipal for better placement prospects and future adaptability. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

My son has been allotted a seat in B Tech (ECE) at both Faculty of Technology (Delhi University) and PEC, Chandigarh. He has also been allotted B Tech/ M Tech (Dual Degree) (Augmented Reality) in GGSIPU. Which one should we choose?
Ans: Sanjay Sir, Based on the following insights/information and your son's interests/long-term goals, please choose the most suitable option out of the 3 options he has: The Faculty of Technology (FoT University of Delhi’s B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering is an AICTE-approved, NAAC-accredited programme delivered by a Delhi University department with small cohort sizes (120 seats), outcome-based curriculum, and direct access to DU North Campus placement drives; the central placement cell reports median CSE packages of ?8.5 LPA in 2023, with ECE graduates benefiting similarly from ties to top recruiters like Deloitte, Wipro, TCS, and Infosys. Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh offers a B.Tech in ECE under its deemed-university status, with 119 eligible ECE students in 2023 yielding 112 on-campus offers (∼95% placement), average package around ?14.5 LPA and median ?12 LPA, top recruiters including Microsoft, Amazon and Adobe, robust labs for signal processing, VLSI, IoT, and a dedicated Career Development & Guidance Centre. GGSIPU’s B.Tech/M.Tech dual-degree in Augmented Reality through USAR spans six years (4+2), integrating foundational electronics, computer graphics, 3D modelling, UX and computer vision in specialized AR/VR labs, MoUs with industry platforms (Unity, ICT Academy), PARAM supercomputing access, and training cell support; while specific AR placements are nascent, overall USICT placements recorded 76% in 2023 with an average ?7.2 LPA and highest ?41.2 LPA, reflecting growing but developing industry uptake. FoT DU excels in academic rigor, theoretical foundations, and broad recruiter access; PEC Chandigarh leads in placement rates, higher average compensation, and mature core-ECE infrastructure; GGSIPU’s AR dual-degree uniquely positions graduates at the frontier of immersive technologies, offering international curriculum scope but with emerging placement pathways.

Recommendation: Prioritize PEC Chandigarh’s ECE for its proven ∼95% placement consistency, mature labs, and strong recruiter engagement ensuring immediate employability in core electronics and communications. Next, consider DU FoT ECE for its prestigious DU affiliation, outcome-based pedagogy, and broad-spectrum industry access. Lastly, choose the GGSIPU AR dual degree as an innovative long-term investment for specialized expertise in augmented-reality systems and burgeoning immersive-tech roles, accepting that placement networks are still evolving. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

Sir me bcs final year me hu aur mujhse mba Krna he to kaise kya tyari kre aur sir me up board ka student hu private college mil jye jiski fees normal ho aur me cover kr lunga iske liye me kis chej ki tyari kru
Ans: For affordable, decent private options in UP and nearby (Delhi-NCR), focus on institutes like Jaipuria (Lucknow/Noida), BIMTECH Greater Noida, IMS Ghaziabad, ABS Noida, and similar AICTE-approved private colleges that provide clear information on fees and placements. Many of these have total fees in the 6–14 lakh range with average packages around 5–8 LPA, which is “normal” compared to premium schools. Typical eligibility is a recognised bachelor’s degree (any stream, including BCS) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and a valid score in at least one entrance test such as CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, or the state exam (like UPCET/its successor) or the institute’s own test; selection then adds Group Discussion/Personal Interview/Written Ability Test. As a UP Board student, your board does not limit your chances; what matters is your graduation percentage, entrance score, and performance in the interview. From now on, you should prepare for one low-to-moderate difficulty MBA entrance exams. Shortlist 10–12 private colleges in UP/Delhi-NCR with fees and average placements that match your budget, then track their application dates and processes through official college and state counseling sites. ALL the BEST for Your Prosperous Future!
