I got 91.08 percentile in jee main 2025 and in board exam i got 92 percent in 2024. I am a general male from WB. Is there any scope in any NIT/GFTI/or good private college for me for btech cse within state or out side state?

Ans: Rounak, With a 91.08 percentile in JEE Main and 92% in boards (General, West Bengal), you are not eligible for CSE in any NIT or GFTI, as CSE cutoffs in these institutes are much higher and typically require a percentile above 95 or a rank well below 50,000. At your rank, you may get non-core branches in lower NITs like NIT Puducherry or NIT Agartala, but not CSE. For CSE/IT, consider reputable private colleges in West Bengal (Heritage, IEM, Techno India) or other states, where your score is sufficient for admission and placements are strong. Recommendation: Focus on securing CSE/IT in top private colleges in your state or region, as this will offer better career prospects and placement opportunities compared to non-core branches in lower NITs or GFTIs. Apply widely and participate actively in counseling to maximize your options. All the best for your admission and a bright future!

I scored 92.3 percentile in jee mains and 96.6 percent in class 12 boards. Which college is best suitable for pursuing btech in cse branch?

Sir I got 74 percentile in jee mains 2025 and around 378000 rank. OBC-NCL category. What all colleges should i choose for btech in cse? Please suggest some govt. Or private college where i can have a great future ahead with a good placement rate. I will also consider colleges with direct admission. Please help sir i didn't found any colleges i am searching from past one month

Ans: NITs / IIITs / GFTIs:
With this rank, it is unlikely to get CSE through JoSAA or CSAB special rounds in any NIT, IIIT, or GFTI.

State Government Universities / Engineering Colleges:
Many states conduct their own counselling for home state students. Examples:

Uttar Pradesh (UPSEE/UPCET)

Maharashtra (MHT-CET)

Rajasthan (RPET/REAP)

Bihar (BCECE)

Telangana (TS EAMCET)
Check if you are eligible for these exams and apply. They have many government colleges where you can get CSE at lower ranks.

Government-funded private universities:
Some private universities have seats reserved and may offer good packages (e.g., IIIT Hyderabad’s SCD category if eligible, or newer IIITs). However, chances for CSE with your rank are low via JEE.

Hello Sir, My son got 98 percentile in MHT CET, according to previous year cutoff he can get Civil or Production Engineering in VJTI Mumbai, should he take any of the above branch. Is this good for his future. Please suggest.

With the mentioned percentile, he may gain admission to CSE or computer-related branches with a compromise on the engineering college. Civil engineering is a more preferable branch over Production from a future point of view. Wait until the SML is declared. The scenario will be clearer after the SML.

Deae Sir, my daughter got 14100 in MET, based on phase 1 counselling, she may get MIT bangalore Electronics and computer engineering, MIT main campus Mechatronics / cyber physical system or CSE at Manipal jaipur. Please advise which one is better. We are residing at Hyderabad.

How is it possible that the school name is not printed on the mark sheet? Without the school name, the mark sheet/document will not be valid for any counseling process. Raise this issue with the school management as soon as possible to save your year.

My son ssecured 7001 ranking in KCET HK quota shall he eligible to CSE or E&C on RVCE or BMS.

Ans: Hello Dear.
Chances are moderate to slim for CSE or ECE at RVCS/BMS. Look into other branches at RVCE/BMSCE where cutoffs may fall within his rank range, or consider other reputable engineering colleges in Karnataka for a secured seat.
