Hi mam.my son is 18 years old .he is preparing for IIT . Academically he is a brilliant child but doesn't have communication skills. Doesn't know how to respond to someone new. He still gives childish answers.plz suggest some PD course for him. We belong to Delhi.

Dr. Aarti, my sons dob is 18/12/2005 and he is in 11class. His problem is that he is not sharing anything with us. not speaking to anybody neither with his friends nor with parents. He is so much anger and irritable that some time he is heating to his mom. He is very much good in studies and got 91 percent in 10th ICSE exam. what should we do for his improvement of communication skill?

Ans: Dear Basant,
1. One-on -One- take your son for a walk/cafe/a drive to help him talk. Forcing him to talk will feel like interrogation to him. Sometimes silence and your presence helps a teen to talk.
2. Ask his friends if anything has happened at school, or has he had a fight with a specific friend.
3. Give him space, show a lot of love but ensure that he is safe. So, no locking of doors, or going out without asking.
4. Switch on his favourite songs.
5. Ask for help from him to solve a problem you may be facing (does not have to be real). Teenagers like to be incharge and helping their parents.

My son getting B1/B2 grades so far in CBSE till now. He is in X std now. He is losing out on scores due to numerical mistakes and inability to eloborate well in long answers. But he is pretty good with comp hardware and practicle electronics. He proved this multiple times by fixing phones and computer mother board issues. Interestingly, he is pretty good at social and that is the subject where he gets highest marks. What courses/path do you suggest for him ?

Ans: In future he can do B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or Computer Engineering. These fields align with his interests in computer hardware and practical electronics. For that he has to study properly will full concentration so that he can secure good rank in competitive examination.

Good evening Guru, My son has taken PCB in 12th grade, to join in engineering Maths is mandatory, to get eligibility any solution please. At present he is attending board exams 2025..

Ans: Some state boards and NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) allow students to appear for Mathematics as an additional subject.
If he clears the Mathematics exam through NIOS (or any state open school board), he will meet the eligibility criteria for most engineering colleges.
NIOS exams are conducted twice a year (April & October), so he can register for the April 2025 exam and qualify in time for admission.

As MBA has off late lost its charm, what is the next best option for a BBM graduate?

Ans: MBA loses its charm when there is downturn in the economy and the demand increases when there is a boom. So expected to see increase in demand for MBA once the Business Cycle reverses. MBA is still the best option for BBM. If you are interested in Finance can do CFA or FRM. For other fields can do short term courses relevant to that field.

Respected Sir My son is completing his B.com BFSI from Sastra University Thanjavur in June 2025 with a CGPA of 8.3. After completing his B.com he is interested in pursuing US CMA or take up a 2 year PGDM from XMIE Chennai. Please advise as to whether he could take up either of the two above mentioned courses and are they good enough to provide him with good job prospects. Alternatively you can also please suggest any other courses which would be helpful to him in a better future and with good job prospects. Thanks and Regards V Narasimhan Trichy

Ans: US CMA will be useful only if he plans to go to US. Else he can look at courses like CFA (Financial Analyst) or FRM (Risk) based on his interest. He can also look for doing an MBA in Finance from some good management college for which he would have to write the Management Entrance exams like CAT or XAT.
