I'm getting production, civil, metallurgy at pec Chandigarh and IT at uiet Chandigarh. I have interest in tech field but pec has strong alumni network so I'm confused what should I join. I am thinking to take core branches at pec and develop skills by side. Will it be safe for my future career ?

Ans: Hello dear.
PEC Chandigarh is a reputed institute. It is a good idea to take admission to one of the core branches and then develop the skills by joining either online/offline courses. Many aspirants have completed engineering in core branches with additional skills in the past. But among the three branches you mentioned, Production, Civil, and Metallurgy, in which branch/field you are interested is not clear. Choosing the branch at random will create frustration in the future. You also mentioned that you have an interest in the tech field and may get a seat in UIET Chandigarh. Now, if you have an interest in the tech field, then it would be better for you to prefer a computer-related branch. Focus more on your interests rather than thinking that PEC has a strong alumni network. It would be a wise decision to opt for IT, considering your strong interest in it.
