Is CAT compulsory for MBA? What is the best time to start preparing?

Ans: Not really actually. In addition to CAT, there are several other exams like NMAT, SNAP, IIFT, XAT to name a few.

There are several smaller (local) ones as well.

Also, for MBA outside India; GMAT is used.

If you plan to prepare for CAT, there is no better time than right now. CAT isnt really a difficult exam. It just is tad bit more tricky than the others.

Hi Mayank. Hope you are keeping well. I was thinking for preparing for CAT exam, (Here is my profile - 81 in 10th , 73 in 12th, 48% in graduation(scored less due to medical condition), 69% in post grad. (Mcom) and 30 months of work experience in Pwc. My question is can i give cat exam as my graduation percentage is below 50 and i am an obc too. And if i cannot give cat exam what other options are availsble for me to do mba from tier 1 colleges which can give me better placements. It would be great if you would give some names for the colleges i should target for.

Ans: Well you aren't eligible for CAT or other such similar management entrance exams.

However, you can choose to go for GMAT.

Or you can go for executive MBA offered by almost all premiere institutes. Check the individual IIMs for their respective criterion.

Sir i have done my engineering from tier 3 college and iam average in my academic also . But i have keen interest in management and want to dive into it . I am confused about appearing in Cat exam or not .

Ans: CAT is a good option as there are many colleges that accept CAT. It is definitely possible for a student from tier 3 institute to get into top Management college as long as you are able to crack the written test and are able to do well in the interview.

Hi my name Nipun Suresh i am a student from Kerala i have recently finished my 12th and looking for college admission I aspire to do my mba from an iim after graduation so my question is which year should i start my preparation for the cat examination

Ans: Good time to start would be after your 1st year (if you are doing a 3 year Bachelors degree) or after your 2nd year (if you are doing 4 year Bachelors degree). You will have 1.5 years to prepare for the exam. There are students who also prepare for less than 6 months and crack the exam. In the meantime ensure you do well in your academics in your college, create a good habit of reading and take up internship post your 1st year of graduation.

Ans: Earliest students usually start is once they finish their first year of graduation. There are a lot of online and classroom coaching institutes. Talk to your seniors to get their feedback on which coaching institute is good in your area.

Ans: Hell Raj
(1) If you are expecting 240, and BITs is providing you with a decent branch, then consider enrolling in any of its campuses.
(2) If you are from MS, you may have also taken the MHT-CET. Achieving a higher score in this exam will significantly enhance your opportunities within Maharashtra.
(3) If you are not satisfied with your MHT-CET score, consider taking the BITSAT instead.
(4) Keep the VIT option as a backup only.
Suggestion- It is advisable to prioritize either the BITSAT or MHT-CET options.

With a score of 92, the likelihood of admission to Manipal or Bangalore is low. Predicting the rank based solely on the MET score is not feasible. The chances of securing a spot in CSE are extremely minimal.

Hi my son has 137 marks in manipal entrance test and might also get chemical in rvce or mechanical in msrit. In bits even low branch as chemical is highly prestigious so why not in rvce if it is a tag name? Manipal electrical is bettrr or rvce chemical pls reply. Thanks.

(1) RVCE Chemical is a preferable option.
(2) Choosing among the Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical branches can be challenging.
(3) First, determine your son's interest in which branch he would like to pursue for his career.
(4) If he wishes to select a branch based on brand reputation, the preferred institutions are: RVCE, Manipal, and MSRIT.
