Hi Dr. I am 40 years old and have severe acidity issues. If I eat just idlies I start burping and acidity will cause severe headache and vomit sensation. I also have a stressful job & I take tension for small things. Hence I started Herbal life protein shake every morning as breakfast continued with balanced meals and it has helped me a lot without causing acidity and feel very energetic. Can I continue this journey or should I be worried about any kidney problems?

Ans: Herbal products needs to be endorsed or cross checked with an Ayurvedic /Siddha practitioner. Kindly do that.
But if you feel symptomatically improved it must be good

Hi Doctor, I'm 37 yrs Male physically and mentally fit. For last several years I'm following a strict diet where I eat 4 times in a day - Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner. Nothing in between. I don't eat junk food. I have 2 questions for you: 1) Lately I have observed an urge to eat in-between (eg. an hour after breakfast) probably due to reduced sugar levels. Is it fine to eat some Jaggery/almonds/cashew in between? 2) When I have early dinner around 7pm, I get an acid reflux at night (especially if I eat Tur dal/any pulses). What can be the reason and what are the ways to tackle acid reflux? Thanks in advance.
Ans: What you are indicating seems to be a sign of insulin resistance where in response to meal, insulin levels rise and then you start feeling hungry. These are indications of early stage of diabetes development.
The first thing you need to get done is blood sugar levels: fasting, 2 hr after breakfast and HbA1c. You also need to have your lipid, and liver function tests done. Essentially, you can get your blood marker profile done. Discuss that with a physician and he or she would be in better position to advise.

Regarding second question, it may not be related to early dinner but overall gastric emptying. Please increase fruits and vegetables in your diet. You need to have some gastric motility enhancing medicines before breakfast . Esomeprazole and Domperidon combination are very effective.

It might benefit to increase the number of meals and snacks in total to 5 From current (Three meals and two snacks) but reduce the quantity and portion sizes in snacks.

Hi sir My son got admission in VIT Bhopal CSE Cat 2 and expected marks in ComedK is 80 marks. Should deposit fees for VIT Bhopal or wait for Comedk results on 7 th June as have to deposit VIT fees by 5th June. Please advise? Thank you
Ans: Anirban Sir, Apologize for the late reply due to a large number of questions raised by parents/students. Given your son’s admission to VIT Bhopal CSE (Category 2) and an expected 80 marks in COMEDK, here’s a balanced assessment: The VIT Bhopal fee deposit deadline is June 5, while COMEDK results will be declared on June 7 at 2 PM, and counselling registration starts June 9. With 80 marks in COMEDK, admission to top-tier Bangalore colleges (like RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT) for CSE is highly unlikely, as their cutoffs are typically much higher; with this score, your son may get branches like IT/ECE in lower-tier COMEDK colleges, but CSE in reputed colleges is improbable. VIT Bhopal, though not as renowned as VIT Vellore, offers solid placements, modern infrastructure, and national-level recognition, making it a safe and quality option for CSE. Since VIT’s counselling and fee payment are time-sensitive and non-refundable, and given the slim chances of a better CSE seat through COMEDK, it is advisable to deposit the VIT Bhopal fees to secure the seat, unless you are comfortable risking the VIT seat for a less certain outcome via COMEDK. If finances permit and you are open to non-CSE branches or lower-tier colleges, you could wait, but for CSE in a nationally recognized institution, securing VIT Bhopal now is the safer choice. All the BEST for your Son's Admission & a Prosperous Future!
