Why it is so that all dating websites have fake profiles or crooks are available instead of genuine common people who can interact and do friendship. OR how can we identify the fake profiles etc.? or is there any genuine dating site with profiles duly verified? Pl. advice.

Ans: Dear A,

It is true that a small portion of deviants make it through the air-tight security that most dating apps provide, but it wouldn't be right to say that there are no genuine people who are interested in interacting or being friends. In fact, a large majority of our users are in the app seeking friendship.

Here and there, you might find some spammy profiles that got through, despite a dating app’s best efforts. Report any suspicious profile as soon as you recognize them as fake users; I assure you that most dating apps take prompt action after checking the genuinity of the report.

Here are some ways to identify a fake profile:

• While some people do not put up their own pictures due to privacy issues, there will be at least a picture of an animal, some random scenery, or wallpapers. But a profile that has a blank space for a display image is more likely a fake one.
• Beware of suspicious first messages with a user directly sharing their number.
• Let's say, you have been talking to someone. If you notice inconsistencies in their stories, it might be a fake profile. Even if they aren't one, it's best not to be in contact with people starting a relationship with lies.
• Financial talks- discussing money or asking for money- during the chatting phase is a big red flag.

How to stay away from scammers on dating apps? There are so many men posing as women with beautiful pictures on their profile. It is tempting but also misleading. Is there any way to track or identify if someone is pranking or fooling with you? Pls help

I understand your concerns with catfishing but let me assure you that dating apps work tirelessly to keep their platform clear of miscreants that pose as someone they are not. But even with airtight security, some scammers might make it through to the apps. Here is where user awareness comes in. Treading with caution and having your wits about you can help in such situations.

Here are some ways to identify a scammer-

• No bio. Genuine users always have a bio.
• No photo. Most users will upload two or more pictures for better chances.
• During the chatting phase, if you see your match, especially females, being too eager to share their number, it's most likely a scammer. Women usually are not keen to share personal details during the initial phase.
• Trying to steer conversations toward finances is also a red flag.

Most importantly, trust your instinct. If something feels off, unmatch. If you see suspicious activities, please report the profile. Most dating apps take reports seriously.

I understand that dating in your 40s can be challenging given that you are ready to settle and most people you meet are still exploring their options before finally settling down. With a strategic approach, you can increase the chances of finding genuine connections.

1) Craft a thoughtful and detailed profile that reflects your values and relationship goals. Make sure to mention what you want and what you have to offer in the BIO to attract people whose preference aligns with yours.
2) While browsing through profiles, pay attention to the content of their bios. You can learn a lot about people from it.
3) Once you find a match, make sure to be clear with your intention to steer away anyone looking for a casual relationship.
4) Choose your dating app carefully. There are apps that cater to daters looking for casual flings and then there are apps that are mostly for serious daters.

Also, remember that patience is key; finding a life partner takes time. You can be selective but not so much that you restrict yourself from having a good time while finding a life partner. Dating should not feel like a business deal; if it does, you are doing it wrong.

Moreover, most apps have 24/7 moderation and options for users to report any fraudulent activities, which are resolved as quickly as possible.

There might still be fake people, the same as dating in real life. That's where being careful while venturing into the avenues of love comes in; it is regardless of the mode of dating.

Hi,Is the Profiles on Dating Apps really True or Scam. Reports of cheaters joining Dating Apps has come to notice.

Ans: Dear Raj,
Your concerns are valid, but it is not limited to online dating apps. Regardless of online and offline, cheaters will be there. But technically, the chances of getting scammed online are less because most dating apps have strict security policy and features. Despite these measures, people sometimes find a way to scam or cheat; that's why it is always recommended to be cautious while dating, and it goes for both online and offline- for instance, stay away from money talks, do not share sensitive details, be careful while sharing pictures, etc.

Moreover, most profiles are genuine people trying to find love or companionship.

And I checked DSAI 2024 closing rank which is 81K something in previous year it is increased about 5000 rank .In this year can I get DSAI? . And I saw cse branch closing rank in 2025 is 83k something and in 2024 is 74k nearly in last rounds .when this year also rank increases and get upto my rank . which branch should I choose CSE or DSAI .iam very confusing about this. Ans: Durga Dinesh, With CRL 86,989 and OBC-NCL rank around 27,000, IIIT Dharwad DSAI through CSAB 2026 is possible but not guaranteed. Your observation is correct: 2025 CSAB Special Round closing for DSAI OBC-NCL was around CRL 86,797, so you are only about 192 ranks away. Since cutoffs can shift by a few hundred or few thousand depending on vacancies, withdrawals, and choice filling, you should definitely participate in CSAB and keep DSAI above lower-preference branches. CSAB officially publishes special-round opening/closing ranks after JoSAA vacancy rounds. Between CSE and DSAI, choose CSE first if available, because it is broader and keeps options open in software, AI, data, cybersecurity, and higher studies. Choose DSAI next because IIIT Dharwad’s curriculum includes data science/AI-focused learning and the institute reports decent placement figures, though 2025 data is still ongoing.

So your choice order can be CSE > DSAI > ECE at IIIT Dharwad. Also fill IIIT Kottayam/Kurnool/Ranchi/Una/Nagpur lower branches as backups along with 4-5 reputed Private Engineering Colleges as backup options.

Ans: Try with DTU/NSUT lower-to-mid branches like Mechanical/Civil/Biotech/Environmental and possibly EE/EP in favorable rounds, plus DSEU/other Delhi govt institutes as safer options. Otherwise, try with private universities located in the nearby area of Delhi.

Ans: Sahadev Sir, With OBC-NCL rank around 181,452, chances through JoSAA for NITs/IIITs are almost nil, because even lower-demand branches usually close far earlier. For GFTIs, chances are also very low in JoSAA, but he should still fill maximum choices, especially lower-demand branches like Civil, Mechanical, Food/Agriculture-related branches, and less popular GFTIs. The better chance may come in CSAB Special Rounds, which fill vacant seats after JoSAA. It is also advisable to have 4-5 backups of Private Engineering Colleges apart from your son's State Counselling, instead of relying only on JoSAA/CSAB. All the BEST for Your Prosperous Future!
