Relationship

I am a doctor and was in relationship with my colleague for 1 year and was planning to marry.
But one problem was our religion. He’s Hindu and I am Christian. We did not mind that and he went forward to tell his parents about me but they refused and threatened him to stop talking to me or they will stop his career.
We still went forward with our relationship until one day they called him home and fixed a girl for him.
He could not say anything in this matter as the whole family got involved and gave him no choice. He told me he tried his best but they did not even want to hear about me.
Meanwhile when I'm understanding how difficult inter religion is to work...I’m still heartbroken and cannot stop thinking about him.
I was ready to marry him even understanding the whole situation. Now I don't know what to do...
I can't go on thinking about him but I still love him and he does too. But we are helpless and I feel like I lost my heart.

Ans:

Dear SV,

The heart can be strong and weak at the same time! Depends on what you have been feeding it through the mind.

When you have understood the difficulties of inter-religion marriages, you still choose to focus on it and pain yourself more.

Do inter-religion marriages work? Yes, they do but it does take a lot of work and keen understanding. And he has already succumbed under family pressure and moved on…So, move on…How?

De-focus…

Focus on things that appealed to you before he stepped into your life.

What interested you back then?

What were these dreams that took a backseat once you started a relationship with this person?

What were the promises that you has made to yourself before this commitment?

Revive them all…Live each one of them in a larger-than-life manner and most importantly, tell yourself: I am my best friend and I know what’s best for me! You are heart is with you; safe and sound!

All the best!

Relationship
Hi, I am in a interfaith relationship since 6+ years and I have the sweetest and most well mannered and caring guy as my boyfriend. I was born as a Hindu and he’s been adopted in a Muslim family. Though we both are agnostic and religion barely made any difference or issues in between us. My family knows about us since the last 2 years and his family has accepted us and is willing to talk to my family. Whereas, my father was initially understanding and willing to talk but now he has turned totally against this relationship after my mother, brother and other relatives have influenced them. They have asked me to choose between them and my love. I told them that by doing this they’ve left me no choice but to die, in which they taunted me asking in which ritual my body will be cremated-the hindu way or the Muslim. I am mentally and emotionally broken and cant seem to think straight. It feels like i am being dragged into a blackhole and cant really come out of it. What should i do?
Ans: give yourself permission to focus on your mental and emotional well-being. It can be incredibly helpful to talk to a counselor or therapist who can give you a safe space to work through the overwhelming emotions you’re feeling. These conversations could give you clarity and strength to make decisions that prioritize your happiness and peace.

At some point, it may be worth approaching your family again, but with a different mindset—one that isn’t trying to change their beliefs but instead focuses on helping them see your happiness as a priority. You could try to appeal to them on the basis of your well-being, asking them to look beyond religious labels to see the person who loves and cares for you. They may need time, and they may resist, but sometimes families gradually come to understand that happiness in a relationship matters more than anything else.

In the meantime, lean on your boyfriend for support, and let him know how much you’re struggling. If he’s as caring and understanding as you’ve described, he’ll stand by you through this and will want to help you feel less alone. Whatever you decide, make sure it’s a choice you feel aligns with your own sense of self and future. The love you feel is real, and though this journey is incredibly hard, there is a path forward—even if it doesn’t feel clear right now.

Relationship
I am in a relationship from past 2 yrs with a guy from the same caste. Initially when we just talked he asked me directly for marriage but only if our kundali matches. He asked me if I trust on kundali. I answered yes bcz I wasn't in love with him then. He told he too trusts on kundali. Months passed and once he proposed me I too accepted bcz till then we really liked each other. After 1.5 yrs his mother contacted my mother for marriage proposal. Our mothers didn't know anything about our relationship, they both know each other. I asked him that we should tell our parents about us. He said let them do as per they want when time comes we will tell them. I agreed upon this but our kundali didn't match so I told him that we should tell now. But now he is saying that the kundali isn't matching we can't marry. He's been very caring, understanding towards me. Also he tells me that the kundali is not matching something bad can happen so this marriage can't happen. Otherwise why would he reject a girl he loves. I really cannot cope with this. I'm crying day n night but he tells me that there's no use of crying breakup happens in everyone's life, we can keep the relationship till any of us get married after that we'll stay friends. I'm with u always. These lines of him are tearing me apart bcz I haven't seen him being this much practical, or he really doesn't care about me, about our relationship.
Ans: Hello mam,
I am sorry that you have to go through all this stuff. I do understand that in India, it is difficult to go along with auch kind of stuff. If the person whom you want to marry is not ready to take stand for you and go against the kundali system, then there is no fun in crying for him or waiting for him. Love relationships are always two sided. Now if he feela that break up is a normal thing for him, then I would suggest you that you should also move on. There is no compulsion that you think of marriage right now but rather you should go ahead with your studies and carrer. At the right time, you will find your right partner.
I hope this helps. Plz write to me regarding your education and what do you want to pursue further?
Waiting for your reply.
Take care

Relationship
Hi sir/mam, Im a Christian girl, Ive been in a relationship for 4years with a hindu guy. He is a gud person and used to take a very gud care of me but he has anger issues. Once when we were having a dispute he msged my mom for the first time saying all negative about me and our relationship in anger with a video clip of ours. After he sended he inforeked me and asked forgiveness and i forgave him. My parents after seeing those msgs asked me the story and then made me call him. They talked and he said all lies about himself in fear of being filed a case on him by parents. And they didnt lyk this as they knew he was lying. After this i tried to convince my parents a lot by taking stand for him but there was no use as they needed answers from him but he was telling to talk to his parents and my parents didnt agree tht.. they had been doubting on him due to fear tht he may hurt me in future after marriage due to his msg. And in final ive asked him for some time but he says his father has fixed his marriage and has given 2 options, one is to get match fixed by my parents with his parents and second option is to marry the girl his father says. He doesnt want to come forward to talk to my parents to ask for me but he says me to convince my parents by myself to talk to his parents at any cost. But here my parents are not all agreeing to talk unless he shares his and his family's details with them and explains them about surity and safety of me and my family. What should i do in this situation, ive lost hope and not knowing wht to do.. i cant leave my parents and now how much ever i try to convince my parents they wont agree. Please tell me wht to do?
Ans: Let’s be honest. Your boyfriend made a serious mistake when he sent that message to your mother in anger — especially with a personal video clip. Even if he apologized later, that moment damaged more than just your parents’ trust — it showed that under pressure, he could act impulsively and without protecting your dignity. Now, when you need him to be strong, honest, and step forward like a man truly ready to marry you, he's stepping back and asking you to convince your family alone. That isn’t love backed by action — that’s love hoping to escape responsibility.

On the other side, your parents are not being unreasonable. They’re asking for basic accountability — that he take responsibility, that they get to know who he is and what kind of family he comes from. They're not making you choose a religion or forcing you into someone else's marriage — they're asking for respect and clarity, which is valid, especially after what happened. They're also trying to protect you because they saw him react in an unstable way once already.

Now you’re left holding all the emotional weight, trying to build a bridge between two sides that aren’t willing to meet halfway.

Here’s the truth: you cannot hold a relationship alone. If he wants you, truly wants to marry you, he should show the maturity and courage to meet your parents, take ownership of his mistake, and explain his family's intentions. If he's too afraid or unwilling to do even that, then you have your answer.

You don't need to make a decision right now. But do ask yourself: Is this the kind of support and courage you want in a life partner? Not just someone who says they love you, but someone who will stand for you when things get hard. So far, it seems like you’ve done all the standing.

My son has been admitted to CS (Data Science) at SRM KTR and CS core at MU Jaipur. We belong to Delhi. Both colleges have similar fees. SRM is a higher-ranked institution, and he got admission to the main campus, while MU Jaipur is closer to our home. What should we choose?
Ans: Samar Sir, SRM Kattankulathur’s B.Tech in Computer Science (Data Science) at its main campus boasts NBA/NAAC A++ accreditation, NIRF engineering rank #13, specialized AI/ML and big-data labs, PhD-qualified faculty, 96% placement rate over three years, and ties with 980+ recruiters for internships and industry projects. Manipal University Jaipur’s B.Tech CSE core is NAAC A+ accredited, NIRF engineering rank #64, features 12 computing and cybersecurity labs, 37 experienced faculty, a Software Development Centre for real-world projects, and a 93% placement rate with 1,142 offers in 2024. Both have robust career services and industry linkages, but SRM’s higher overall ranking, deeper research facilities, and slightly stronger placement consistency contrast with MU Jaipur’s closer proximity and strong coding-culture initiatives.

Final Recommendation: Given its superior national ranking, specialized research labs, and 96% placement consistency in Data Science, choosing SRM KTR CS (Data Science) maximizes career and research opportunities. Opt for MU Jaipur CSE only if proximity and ease of access for internships locally outweigh SRM’s advantages. MY SUGGESTION: Prefer MUJ-CSE. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
