Hi Samraat, given the overall global macroeconomic uncertainty, how do you see the Indian equity markets performing in the next two years?

Ans: Global issues will be there and if we go back in the history there were bigger issues than this, still Indian markets performed well. Further from here our entire data is positive, several macroeconomic factors underpin the strength in Indian Economy. These include increased credit off-take, stable inflation, falling energy prices, robust industrial activity, reduced recession fears, the peaking of the rate hike cycle worldwide, and the deleveraging of Indian corporate balance sheets. The return of liquidity for foreign institutional investors is also helping.

Many thanks for you answer Samraat. How do you look at the micro-cap, small-cap and mid-cap universe if one has a three-five year investment horizon? Do you think this universe is already overheated and there could be limited potential for growth? Regards
Ans: The universe is always attractive in all market cycles, the only thing is that you should be in the right stock/company whose business you understand, and you have studied or researched in deep. Some the companies whose name was flashed, and rates have already overvalued should be ignored for further investing. The horizon for such investments should always be minimum 5yrs
