Re. Revision in Form 67 for AY 2019-20 & AY 2020-21 and submission of request for Rectification. Erroneously, I have claimed the Tax Relief under section 91, instead of section 90/90A Under DTAA with Canada, which naturally have not been given by IT Dept and Assessment carried out under 143(1).
It is a plain typographical error on my part.

Can the error be corrected by revising Form 67 and submitted with a Rectification request to IT Dept? Please suggest a way out.

Ans: Mistake which is apparent from the records can be rectified by Income Tax Department and mistake which requires debate, elaboration, investigation, etc. cannot be rectified. Accordingly, if you can specify in the application that section 91 of Income Tax Act 1961 provides for Unilateral Relief which states that when there is no DTAA between two countries, you have certain income (which is doubly taxed) from Canada with whom India has signed DTAA and section 91 is not applicable in your case. Accordingly, you can request to assessing officer that inadvertently while filing Form 67, you have selected wrong section, as it is mistake apparent from the records, kindly consider revised Form 67 and pass rectification order u/s 154 of the income tax act.

While paying self assessment tax challan for AY 23-24 , I selected advance tax for AY 24-25 by mistake I have personally submitted letter to AO for correction in challan 20-22 days ago but corrections have not yet been made, They say challan is not reflecting in our system so can't correct .while it is showing as advance tax in my AIS for AY 24 -25 In this case I may receive demand notice after processing of my return , Then how to rectify the mistake online without going to income tax office again ? After receiving demand notice,can we rectify mistake by adjusting advance tax with self assessment tax and close the demand? Or I will have to file revised return after receiving demand notice through 143 (1) ? Please advise

Ans: In case of wrong assessment year selection in tax payment challan, assessing officer has power to correct financial year. As deadline for AY 2023-24 is approaching, it is advisable to show said challan in ITR and get it rectified from officer at the earliest. Till the time credit is available in AY 2023-24, demand will not be closed.

Assessee Company filed IT Return on due date for the AY 23-24(FY 22-23). It claimed all the Tax credit as per 26AS. However one of the client deposited tax very lately in Jan 24 for the FY 22-23 and the 26AS was updated and now the TDS as per 26AS is more than the TDS claimed in Return. The possibility of belated returns ended on 31.12.23. Newly introduced Form 71 is for claiming a credit of tax which was deducted in the subsequent financial year but the income thereof was offered in the preceding financial year. Rectification opportunity u/s 154 may not be available as it is not an mistakes apparent on record. What is the option available to Assessee Company to claim the TDS as refund. Thanks in Advance.

Ans: Company can file condonation application with PCIT/CBDT (depending on amount of refund and as per guidelines for condonation u/s 119)

Ans: Instant oats are made by pre-cooking the oats with steam, rolling and flattening them into thinner flakes and drying and sometimes grinding them into finer particles, thus changing how your body digests them. Fiber is reduced slightly, protein is less satiating due to faster digestion. Instant oats have a higher glycemic index than steel-cut or rolled oats. Also, many flavored varieties contain added sugars (up to 12g per packet), artificial flavors and preservatives and sodium to enhance taste.
