Hellow Sir Me and my wife are going to retire from Government Service in mid 2024. We both will be eligible for monthly Pension (approx. 1.0 lakh for both) and will also get retirement benefits of approx 1 cr. At present we are paying EMI (around Rs.85000 pm) of house loan and there will be outstanding house loan liability/principal of Rs.30.00 lakh at the time of retirement. Please guide :- 1.Whether to pay outstanding loan in lumpsum from the retirement benefit OR pay through EMI (by reducing the EMI amount but extending loan tenure/present RoI is 9.20) and invest the amount equal to loan amount either in real estate or in MF etc. Here I would like to mention that I will have to pay Income Tax on my total Pension + investment returns. 2.How to invest retirement benefit corpus( 1 cr) so as to earn healthy returns. Kindly note that I have an unmarried Son (employed) but have to support him during marriage expenses etc.

Hello, I am 38 years old and wife is 36, we have two kids 9 years and 3 years old. Our monthly salaried income is 2.6L and below is our wealth accumulation. Mutual Funds (Direct growth) : 24Lakhs Equity current valuation: 70L FD - 6L PF/PPF/NPS/SSY: 46Lakhs House: 1 house (60L) - no Home loan Car loan - 5L pending Insurance etc - 10K PA Savings - 40L Our monthly expenditure as below Expenses - Around 30K SIP - 56K Additional NPS/PPF/SSY - 30K Car Loan EMI (7%)- 20K And also expecting around 5-7 Cr for retirement (after 15-16 years) We are looking for to invest in another (bigger) home (for self occupancy) and its of around 1.75 crores. Thinking of 35L as down payment (1.4Cr as loan amount). And we do not wise to use any invested amount in this home as the same fund can be used in retirement. Please advise it wise to invest in home (as we need 1) and will it impact financial targets for the retirement?

Hi Sir - I'm 35 years. Both myself and a better half are working with a monthly income of 3.65L together (2.8L mine + 85K wife's). We have a 5 year old male kid. We have a SBI max gain home loan account with a debt of 12.65L and a parked amount of 26.5L apart from the EMI paid so far from previous 5 years. No EMI on car purchased. EPF ~29L, PPF started for both of us an year back. Also started a monthly SIP of ~1.2-1.5L in MF from Jan'2024 with 8.5L balance so far and will continue the SIP in the below funds atleast for next 10 years. Not considering debt funds as I'm already having EPF and PPF components and will periodically review these funds. 1. Nifty next 50 Index, 2. Small Cap 250 Index, 3. Multi Cap, Active 4. Mid Cap, Active 5. Flexi Cap, Active Better half may quit her job by Mar'2025. We are looking to close home loan by March'2025 and stay EMI/debt free with a peace of mind. Is it a wise decision to close a home loan by this financial year and increase the monthly SIP to 2L from next financial year? Or) invest the home loan balance amount in real estate (preferably buying a land)? especially when the home loan interest of upto 3.5L are tax fee in the old tax regime. Thanks!

Sir my son in 2009 invested in Mutual fund rs.5000/- and again rs.5000/- another in 2011 total rs.10,000/- with Reliance mutuval funds later this company changed in the name of Nippon India private limite. My son at the of investments he had Old PAN no. Later on job purpose gone abroad and settled. He came in 2019 and submitted redeem his units say 2250 units currenly valued rs. 50,000 above . His application was rejected at first Old PAN Card not surrendered so he surrendered same with original attached with NRE status PAN and submitted agiain who they says You have to link his Aadhar card. He is not in a position to obtain this because he may get citizenship. I referred to SEBI and RBI to intervene but no response from them Please guide me how to redeem and get my son’s investments which I require for my ailing age of 78. Thanks in advance If you require his PAN no surrendered and obtained new NRE status PAN no.

I have ~40L in my portfolio and all my MF`s are Regular funds since I have been investing thru ICICIDirect. Now I want to start investing into Direct funds since I realize that Direct funds have lower Expense ratio. So I want to invest thru MFcentral or Zeroda. Now, my quesiton is: Is it a good idea to cancel my existing MF`s (not redeeming) in ICICIDirect and start new direct SIP`s ? Will I be loosing compounding effect of my existing regular MF`s? I dont want to redeem the SIP`s since it will incurr large LTCG taxes
