My 25-year-old son who is working in IT wants to invest in MF for 10 to 15 years duration. He can invest 10,000 to 12,000 monthly. Can you please suggest few funds for him? Is ET Money Apps (Direct fund) safe for investment??

Ans: A basket can be created from these funds. Investors with proper understating of the mutual fund and those who would not require any guidance for qualified financial advisors should only take direct route.

Multicap: Suitable options considering quality and value for money at present levels are UTI Equity Fund, Axis Multicap and Motilal Oswal Multicap 35

Focused: Suitable options considering quality and value for money at present levels are Axis Focused 25, Motilal Oswal Focused 25

Midcap: Suitable options considering quality and value for money at present levels are DSP Midcap and Axis Midcap

Hi Sir, My take home salary is 90K with no debts and NO EMI's, I am new to MF-SIP, my age is 41 now. I can invest upto 10,000 to 20000 per month, considering a investment period of 12 to 15 years, kindly suggest MFs which can give a returns of around 20 to 25 % , kindly suggest further.

Ans: there is a nice option in case if you are a director in any company, where in whatever you will invest on per annum basis, same amount would be received back by you from 12 th year onwards till next 30 years.
Eg. If you invest 1 lac for say 10 years, so from 11th year end, you will start receiving 1 lac for next 30 years and at the end of 30 years, you will receive back your investment. You can add nominee in this process too.
Risk cover is 10 times of your yly investment.

the above option may best suit you looking at your profile.

If you are salaried person, and if you can spare 20 k, HDFC Micro Fund may be the nice option from available option in my opinion. As a thumb rule, please pull out your investment every 5 years and change the form, from MF to property or gold and keep continue to invest in MF as well.

Hello Ulhas, I am 33 years and I want to start investing in MF with amount 25k per month till next 10-15 years so that I can get a good corpus for my child's education and also retirement . Ans: Hello Prateek & thanks for writing to me. As your goal is long term, you can consider investing in equity schemes for around 10 to 12 years, stop your SIP's in equity funds & begin SIP's in balanced advantage funds & multi asset funds for the remainder 3 to 4 years.

You can invest in a mix of

1-Flexicap Funds: 50% of your investible corpus.
2-Multicap Funds:25% of your investible corpus.
3-Midcap Funds: 12.5% of your investible corpus.
4-Smallcap Funds:12.5% of your investible corpus.

Hello, I'm about to finish my third year in b.a. in economics, I want to earn money with a settled job for my parents. Hi Sir, My Son is studying in 11th std with PCMCs and preparing both for NATA and CET. He was an average student in tenth scoring 55%, we are hoping for better performance in his 12th board. Currently we are staying in Bangalore. We need your suggestion in choosing between BArch or BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical). Which one will be better for him in difficulty level, fee structure, future job prospects and if he wants to Masters, whether he can continue in India or abroad. If abroad which countries or university are good for him for masters. Thank you

Ans: In B.Arch difficulty level is less but he must be good in drawing. A candidate who is bad in drawing can't be an Architect, even if he becomes he will fail in professional life. BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical) needs good knowledge of Maths and Physics. From his 10th score it seems to be he is an below average student. Fee structure is mostly same in both. For Masters we can think afterwards, no question of long term planning. In abroad always USA is the best for Engineering. Best of luck. Regards. Hi , I am planning to pursue a master's degree from Australia in 2025 Feb intake and got my education loan sanctioned from a bank too, but the university requires some interview process for confirming my admission and the interview is done now and it's been more than 1 month I didn't got any reply from the University of whether my admission is confirmed or not , because of the new law of student capping in Australia they are putting it on hold and now I have a offer letter from other university too but the thing is my sanction letter is already used for my first uni and I want to ask is there any way that I can use the same sanction letter for other university too or any other alternative for this that what should I do in this situation

I understand your concern but how will you know whether height is an issue for her until you go ahead and speak to her? If you are worried about confessing your feelings for her directly, it's best you take things slow. Anyways, people are more likely to take such confessions on a positive note if they know the person.

You can start with a Hi, followed by letting her know that you have seen her around quite a few times. You can ask her what she does, and other general questions. Don't do it all in a single day; try building rapport slowly. This way you won't be putting too much pressure on yourself or on her.
