I m 56 yrs old having high BP and sugar,taking medicine since long. My weight 120 kg,I was regular gym goer but due to ankle and knee pain,I could not do aerobics as well as weight training,My calorie intake is around 2000kcl per day,my height is 180 cm. zhow can i reduce the exess weight.pl suggest

Ans: There is no short cuts in weight reduction. Already you have few comorbidities
So surgery is not a good option.
Consult a Fitness medicine Physician who gives you a balanced nutrition chart and exercise prescription for your constituition

Ans: The very fact you have all these comorbidities as illnesses is that, you need to look into your lifestyle and take action.
Balanced diet, timely meals, adequate and Appropriate physical exercise should be the priority rather than short cuts of Bariatric surgery.

Ans: Weight reduction should be aimed by increasing muscle mass and lowering body fat. It is a gradual process which should be monitored by a professional and not deteriorate health of an individual. Follow a balanced diet with focus on more complex carbohydrates and fiber rich foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals, etc., sources of protein rich foods like low fat dairy products, lean meat, eggs, pulses and legumes and low but healthy fats like olive or mustard or canola oil, etc. Avoid sweets, chocolates, alcohol, soft drinks, fruit juices, fatty foods, etc. which would add to your fat percentage by contributing empty calories. A regular exercise regimen will bring about building of lean mass and burn extra calories.

PLS SUGGEST HOW TO BRING DOWN MY WEIGHT, BP AND SUGARS. ANY DIET PLAN, I AM AN NON-VEGETARIAN.

Increase your sleep time. Eat healthy. Consult a physician for starting medications for diabetes and hypertension.
reduce weight. Get more physically active.

Work is important but can not be a priority over your health.

You are young at 46 and when people in India now expect to live 75 or 80 years if they are over 18 years.

So, if you give your health some attention now, it will benefit you in future.
