My son was born in Maharashtra, and has a Birth-certificate of Maharashtra, but we are permanent residents of Delhi. Is my son eligible to get its benefit in terms of local reservation in MHTCET-2025/

Ans: Hi Rajiv,
As your son born in Maharashtra, you cannot claim a domicile certificate from Maharashtra. To be eligible for a domicile certificate, one needs to have resided in the state for the last 15 years. Therefore, having only a birth certificate is not sufficient. I hope I have answered your question.

Ans: Since your son has studied in Maharashtra since Class 1, he is eligible for Maharashtra domicile under the education-based criteria.
You (or your son) need to apply at the Collector’s Office, Tahsildar Office, or Setu Kendra in your district (Pune in your case).

Documents Required
School Leaving Certificate showing study from Class 1 to 12 in Maharashtra.
Bonafide Certificate from School/College (mentioning study years).
Aadhaar Card of student & parents.
Address Proof in Maharashtra (Rent Agreement, Electricity Bill, Ration Card, etc.).
Birth Certificate.

Sir , Please confirm that MH CET state quota seats benefits can be availed by a candidate who is born in Maharastra, and all his education 10th, 12th from Maharashtra ( Type A). Can candidate participate in all cap rounds? But candidates parent are from outside state but staying in Maharastra for 20 years and don't have domicile certificate.

Ans: Yes. If your son was born in Maharashtra and passed both the 10th and 12th in Maharashtra, he is eligible as a Type-A candidate and can participate in all CAP rounds for state quota seats. In such a case, parents' domicile is not required for Type-A if the birth-in-Maharashtra condition is met. However, keep the birth certificate and other CAP verification documents ready, as final eligibility is determined during document scrutiny. I suggest downloading the latest brochure published by the Maha-CET cell on its official website and reading the eligibility criteria and domicile conditions in detail, rather than fully relying on our advice/reply. We always recommend reading each and every page of the brochure in detail, along with the FAQS given in the brochure, if any.

I have scored 95.12 percentile in MHT CET and have got provisional admission in Manipal University Jaipur CSE branch . I am outside Maharashtra resident. Can I get a better college in Maharashtra Counselling? Based on past cutoff I may able to get KJ Somaiya college of engineering Mumbai AI & DS branch . Which college I should choose out of the above two MUJ or KJ Somaiya ?

Ans: As an OMS candidate, getting top government colleges like COEP, VJTI, or ICT in CSE/AI is unlikely. However, K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is a realistic and strong possibility if the cutoff remains similar. Do not withdraw your MUJ admission until you have actually received and confirmed your admission through Maharashtra CAP. Treat MUJ as your secure backup while participating in counselling.

Sir my percentile is 89.425 in open category i m outside maharashtra candidate, what can i get in mht cet counselling?

Ans: Hope the score mentioned is from JEE (Main), as it is the only one considered for CAP admissions, not your MHT-CET score. OMS candidates compete for All India seats based on JEE Main scores. You can target government colleges for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and other lower-demand branches. For CSE/IT/ECE, good private colleges are an option. It is not possible for us to provide a probable college list at this moment. But you can surely get admission to a decent private college. Just decide the city and choose the preferred colleges with preferred branches.

Is there any problem in jossa councilling if i register myself as nios student. i had already passed class 12th as cbse student but got 68 % also i gave jee exam as a cbse student

Ans: No, there is generally no problem in JoSAA counselling if you register with NIOS after passing CBSE, provided you meet the eligibility rules. If you want to use your NIOS marks instead, they must be valid, declared in time, and accepted as your qualifying examination. Your documents must also be consistent.

Sir, A taxable income of 1 crore to be shared between 5 heirs, is received in a bank account of one of those persons and divided/transferred to the other 4. From the tax point, is there a problem for the bank ac holder who initially received the 1 crore? If yes, please advise how to handle that.

Ans: 1. What is the specific reason for taking in one bank account instead of respective person
2. What is the nature of income
3. If the payer is deducting TDS of respective person, then payment should also be made to respective account

Sir, I got VIT Chennai CSE confirmed seat. The reporting date is 16th July. Also my MHT CET PCM percentile is 99.8, but the merit list and cap rounds are delayed. I am from Maharashtra and open category. Should I report to VIT Chennai or withdraw. I need your guidance.
