Health- I caught infection of respiratory system 30days ago after Intercity travel. Earlier symptoms were of flue and stuffed nose and sore throat. That got over in 16-18 days time. But new problem has started which never happened before .headache in forehead, stiffness in neck is prominent and tired & sore eyes like one feels after excess liquor consumption. The ENT and Eye doctors have cleared me. But symptoms don't go. Some times paint in for head is more than moderate and I have to take crocin. None of the drugs prescribed worked.

Ans: Have you had a CT scan of the Para Nasal sinuses ?

I am 51 years old, having mild fever with headache since long back and is very frequently. Now cold and running nose is also a problem. Taking lot of medicines but nothing has happened. Can you suggest something for permanent solution.

Ans: Hope you have also done your blood profile, to find the underline cause of fever. I request you to get it done under prescription from your doctor. Meanwhile you can try a safe naturopathy remedy - take 1-2 teaspoons of onion juice twice a day for a week. You can add half a tsp of honey, if you want. In case of any discomfort, please discontinue. Feel free to write back, if you have any queries.

I had viral fever 9 days back and the fever subsides after 3 days.. although some cough along with mucus is still there..though there is no fever, I feel fatigue a lot ( I am taking adequate liquid and ORS along with vitamin tablet) and along with that , I am sensing a smell ( sort of sweet smell) through my nostrils although there is no such source of smell..this stange smell feeling started 4 days back and still there..can you pls. provide the remedy how to get rid of the fatigue and smell?

Ans: Please check RTPCR for Covid 19
This could be a variant of Covid 19 too.
He yourself isolated and rest indoors
It will be self limiting

I am70 years male with diabetes and HT in control since 15 years. Last month I got cold and flue like infection with stuffed nose , back flow and sore throat. But I still have not recovered . First time I feel persistent mild headache in frontal sinuses area specially on left side and pain in forehead, itching , burning and tired eyes like symptom. Vision too was checked and numbers changed. I feel pain deep inside left nose around eye corner. That is my reissue. Both eye and ENT experts have cleared that nothing abnormal found. It may be allergy. But symptoms are not allergy. I took monte Lukas with levo cetrogen . I feel pain and stiff ness in my neck with spondylosis. Could it be that or some deep infection in left nostril What could line of diagnosis/treatment including x-ray of PNS and MRI of head and neck .Or is it due to some thing up in the nose?

Ans: You could get a CT scan of the paranasal sinuses.
Can also try Furamist Az nasal spray in each nostril twice a day (after checking with your physician)

Ans: Steam inhalation nights before you go to bed, breathing practices to inhale from nostrils and exhale from alternate nostrils, for about five minutes as you wake up and before you retire to bed.

Hi Sir, My son studied IGCSE and completed 10th standard. He is pursuing commerce stream. After 12th standard, we are looking for BBA or integrated MBA through IPMAT. My question is should i continue Cambridge A&AS Level or shift him to ICE or it fo not matter much. He is good in studies. Kindly advise.

Stay with Cambridge A & AS Level, but ensure he takes Mathematics. Focus on IPMAT entrance preparation alongside board studies. If needed, he can take additional practice from NCERT books for better alignment with IPMAT.

Congratulations on planning to get admission to IISC for your son. Admission is highly competitive, so early preparation will be beneficial. Here are some tips: (1) Strong Focus on the Core subject of Mathematics (2) Learn Python and SQL programming skills (3) Participate in Mathematics Olympiads (RMO, INMO) (4) Join a Coaching Program to learn ISI-specific training (like PiVerb, Cheenta). (5) Encourage solving puzzles and logic games (Sudoku, Chess, Codeforces). (6) In class 10- Build strong basics in ICSE Math, start Olympiad-level problems (7) In class 11 - Solve tough problems, focus on Calculus & Algebra, and start Python (8) In class 12 - take mock tests, solve past ISI papers, revise Probability.
Efforts are endless. One has to make efforts to master the skills from all angles as the DS field is highly challenging. Keep motivating him in any situation i.e. at the time of success or failure. Best of luck to him for his upcoming bright career.
