Can you please explain the causal inter connection between Type II diabetes and diabetic neuropathy/polyneuropathy -what causes which and how and what is a possible natural remedy that is effective, be it ayurveda, homeopathy or TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). George Chakko, former U.N. correspondent at Vienna International Centre and now retired in Vienna, Austria.

Ans: Type II Diabetes is a condition where the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn’t produce enough insulin, leading to high blood sugar levels. Over time, this high blood sugar can cause damage to various parts of the body, including the nerves. Diabetic Neuropathy is a type of nerve damage that can occur with diabetes. It is often caused by prolonged high blood sugar levels, which can damage the walls of the small blood vessels (capillaries) that supply the nerves with oxygen and nutrients. Polyneuropathy refers to damage to multiple peripheral nerves throughout the body. There are several natural remedies from various traditional medicine systems that may help manage symptoms of diabetic neuropathy. However, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications. They can help tailor a plan that’s safe and effective for you.
