My daughter often get pneumonia type infection whenever she took ice cream or cold drinks etc. she is 4 years 10 month old having weight 16 kg with lin and thin body type. kindly suggest for her good healh and to improve her weight and physics

Ans: She could be having hyper reactive airways, an indicator of childhood asthma. She needs to see a pediatrician who will prescribe tests and if required, inhalers

Dear Komalji, My son is seven years old. His weight is around 21.5 kg. I feel that his physique is too lean. He is not much interested in food. Every time, we have to push him to eat. He falls sick very often, especially with throat infection. His daily diet is: Breakfast: Milk every day with PediaSure powder and bread/egg white/chapati/paratha on rotation basis. Before lunch: Apple/Orange/Seasonal fruit Lunch: Usually Chapati/Rice/Dal sabzi Evening: Milk with PediaSure powder Dinner at 9 pm: Usually Chapati/Rice/Dal sabzi This is almost his daily routine. The problems we are facing: He doesn’t eat much. He falls sick very often. He is too lean but active. Please advise a good plan for him. Regards Avinash Kumar

The growth of a child is influenced by poor or adequate nutrition, environment, exercise, hormones, serious or chronic illnesses, etc.

Based on his activity and nutritional requirements, he needs to take a high protein diet which will help increase his muscle mass.

Include protein-rich foods like eggs, low fat dairy products, nuts, lean meat, etc, in every meal.

Add lots of vegetables, fruits and salads in his diet to include antioxidants and fibre which will improve his gut health.

His immunity will improve with a good nutritional balance in his diet and energy-dense foods to sustain his activities.

He must drink enough water to remain well-hydrated, sleep for at least eight hours daily and have a happy social environment.

dear madam my daughter is 1 year old now , weight is just 6.9kgs female she was born c section begining of 9 months as wife has some acid influx // weighting that time was 2.7 kgs since last 5 months she has just gained 500 gms weight though she is very active crawls // communicate // teeth are also coming but she is very thin and less weight when contact doctor says give good diet etc but she eats very less just throw out of mind .. we ry to give 8-10 time different things home made does not eat more relied on mother milk suggest way to increase weight rgds

Ans: I donot understand what ' throw out of mind' means. If you mean that she is throwing up after meals, then she could possibly be having gastroesophageal reflux and will need treatment for that. Try thickened feeds and not liquid so that caloric content of meal increases and also vomiting will reduce. Now that she is one year, you should try offering her the normal family diet. Variety helps. She may be bored of the same food, especially if bland. Also, breast milk should not be offered as a substitute for a meal.

Ans: The intake of breast milk has to be reduced. It should not be given as a substitute when she doesn't eat. Try different types of food. Now she can eat the full family diet. No need to give her only liquid. She won't like bland soft diet now and you need to offer a variety.

Dear madam, my daughter is 1.5 years old, weight 9.3kg. Weight at the time of birth was 3.2kg. She is not on mother's feed. She does not find home food attractive and it takes a lot of effort for us to make her eat one meal in a day. We are trying everything possible. She hasn't started walking yet, only crawling. What could be done madam? Shall we start multivitamin?

Ans: Over dependence on bottle feeds could be the most likely reason. Reduce milk intake by offering milk in a cup or sipper. Offer different home cooked items when she asks for the bottle .She will need iron and vitamin supplements too.

Hello, I'm about to finish my third year in b.a. in economics, I want to earn money with a settled job for my parents. I'm confused rn, I want to prepare for SSC CGL, and earn good, but I fear of taking a gap after my graduation, since my college is very strict towards attendance and load is too much thus I don't want to go there again for my pg, idk if I should do private MBA or ma in economics or any other diploma in computer related or finance related course while simultaneously doing my preparation since I don't want to do nothing while sitting at home.(Btw I'm from Agra and it's getting hard for me to find good college where I can do my Master's in economics non-regular mode in reasonable fee)

Hi Sir, My Son is studying in 11th std with PCMCs and preparing both for NATA and CET. He was an average student in tenth scoring 55%, we are hoping for better performance in his 12th board. Currently we are staying in Bangalore. We need your suggestion in choosing between BArch or BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical). Which one will be better for him in difficulty level, fee structure, future job prospects and if he wants to Masters, whether he can continue in India or abroad. If abroad which countries or university are good for him for masters. Thank you

Ans: In B.Arch difficulty level is less but he must be good in drawing. A candidate who is bad in drawing can't be an Architect, even if he becomes he will fail in professional life. BE (Civil/Mech/Electrical) needs good knowledge of Maths and Physics. From his 10th score it seems to be he is an below average student. Fee structure is mostly same in both. For Masters we can think afterwards, no question of long term planning. In abroad always USA is the best for Engineering. Best of luck. Regards. Hi , I am planning to pursue a master's degree from Australia in 2025 Feb intake and got my education loan sanctioned from a bank too, but the university requires some interview process for confirming my admission and the interview is done now and it's been more than 1 month I didn't got any reply from the University of whether my admission is confirmed or not , because of the new law of student capping in Australia they are putting it on hold and now I have a offer letter from other university too but the thing is my sanction letter is already used for my first uni and I want to ask is there any way that I can use the same sanction letter for other university too or any other alternative for this that what should I do in this situation

I understand your concern but how will you know whether height is an issue for her until you go ahead and speak to her? If you are worried about confessing your feelings for her directly, it's best you take things slow. Anyways, people are more likely to take such confessions on a positive note if they know the person.

You can start with a Hi, followed by letting her know that you have seen her around quite a few times. You can ask her what she does, and other general questions. Don't do it all in a single day; try building rapport slowly. This way you won't be putting too much pressure on yourself or on her.
