Hi, I am aged 59 years and weigh 69 kgs..I walk regularly, do pranayama, and follow a strict diet..my hba1c last month was 6..I was shocked..usually my fasting.sugar is below 100 and. Pp after meals is between 120 to 130. My cholesterol was 120 last month..All tests are normal along with my bp My father family has a history.of diabetics. I m worried..i m taking all steps to beat this but still my hba1c is worrying me..kindly advice

Ans: Please do not get worried with the markers done once. This can be repeated after three months, of following lifestyle modification such as eating dinner early by 6 pm and adequate Physical activity from another NABL certified lab and rechecked

Hi Komal ji. I am 61 years and diabetic for the past 12 years. My HbA1C today is 6.4 and it was 5.1 in November 2022. Fasting and PP is 90 and 84 respectively. I am on medication with Janumet 50/500 twice a day morning and night and Cardace 2.5 mg in the morning for BP. My weight is 60 kgs and height is 167cm. My diet includes millets, vegetables, fruits, dry fruits, chese, butter, ghee and cold pressed oils. Fully stopped eating maida, white rice and sugar. Please advice (1) how to bring HbA1c within 4.6 to 5.5. (2) If HbA1c is brought within 4.6 to 5.5, can I stop taking diabetes medicines ?. Thanks & Regards.

Ans: You are already on maximum diet. Exercise of 30 to 45 minutes everyday for at least 5 days in a week would help to control the HBA1c well. Once your sugar levels are consistently in the normal range, you can probably reduce the tablet to once daily. Possibility of completely stopping the medicine is less. It is a very stiff target of keeping HbA1c of 4.6 to 5.5, which is difficult to achieve. Keeping it less than 6.4 is fair enough.

Sir my HBA1C is 6.7 in Sep23 ( it was 12.60 in Sep 2022 & came down to 6.80 in Apr 2023 ), FBS is 89 and PP Sugar is 88 (Sep23), am on Glitaray M1 (MN) since past 1 year, i stated to follow very strict diet from Aug23 - eating seasonal fruits in morning between 9 AM to 12 Noon, green salad before lunch n have millets preparation for lunch, same as lunch for dinner, drink Kashaya during the day, not having milk and diary products, oil, sugar, white rice, wheat, maida, fried food, fast food, junk food, outside food, do Brisk walk for 45 mins about 5500 steps in morning and 1500 steps in evening, Yoga in morning for 20 mins followed by Meditation in morning for 20 mins, my question is my HBA1C is not coming down even though my Fasting & PP Glucose have come down to normal level. please help

Ans: - Avoid sugar, jaggery and honey in ur diet
- Avoid fruit juices, coconut water and sugarcane juice
- Include protein with every meal
- Use cold pressed oils instead of refined oils
- Quality sleep - 7hrs/day
- Manage ur stress levels

Ans: A normal level for an HbA1c is below 5.7%.. Your level is indicative of diabetes. Normal fasting blood sugar is less than 100 mg/dl and your range of 100-110 mg/dl which suggests prediabetes. Focus on a balanced diet rich in whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of vegetables. Limit refined sugars, processed foods, and high-calorie snacks. Monitor portion sizes and spread meals throughout the day. Regular exercise helps lower blood sugar levels. Discuss your results with a registered dietician or your family physician.

Ans: With AEEE rank 17,810, Amrita Bengaluru CSE Core is difficult, especially if you are from another state, because recent expert cutoff indicators place Bengaluru CSE much lower, around 4,000–8,000 home-state and 400–4,000 other-state. Better choices: fill CSE specialisation, ECE, EEE at Bengaluru, and CSE/CSE-specialisation at Chennai, Amritapuri, Amaravati/Faridabad, depending on availability. I am thinking to give improvements, but the result comes a bit after bitsat's deadline? Do you think they'll consider my request to submit the improvement marks as soon as my improvement mark's results comes out? Will they accept my 12th scores a lil later? Kindly guide me sir

Dear Gurus, My daughter has 43000 app rank in VIT, will she get any seat in Chennai campus? Next she is unconvinced about VIT due to huge intake, if studies would suffer, if professor can give enough time. She is pitching against MANIPAL. She is interested in ECE branch. May I have some advice on this pls? In addition she has appeared for COMDEK, any better college than VIT for ECE that can be looked at?

Ans: Chances with VIT are on the borderline, either at Vellore/Chennai. VIT is good, but the very large intake means students must be proactive to stand out. Manipal is the safer choice; through COMEDK, colleges like and are definitely worth targeting for ECE, and can be preferable to VIT Chennai depending on her COMEDK rank. Via COMDEK, colleges like Ramaiah Institute of Technology, BMS College of Engineering, and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering are also very good ECE options if she gets a decent rank.

Ans: He has fair chances for mid-tier branches in Amrita and some chances in lower-demand branches/campuses of Manipal Academy, while he should also seriously target state counselling and COMEDK/private colleges for better value options.

With AEEE rank 16,965, you may get lower-demand branches or campuses in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, which generally has a stronger academic reputation than many average private colleges. With VITEEE rank 52,000, you may get CSE-specialisations in VIT Bhopal University or VIT-AP University, or non-CSE branches in Vellore/Chennai under higher categories. Recent cutoff indicators show Coimbatore ECE generally needs a high percentile, especially for lower-fee slabs. Slab 1 usually goes to stronger ranks first. Fill ECE Coimbatore Slab 1, but also add Slab 2/3, plus ECE/CSE-specialisation at Bengaluru/Amritapuri/Chennai as backups. Ans: Himanshu Sir, With AEEE rank 10,500, Amrita Faridabad AI & DS looks possible/moderately possible, because Faridabad has listed AI/Data Science options in counselling references. Amrita Haridwar CSE Core may also be possible, but Haridwar/Faridabad are newer options, so placement proof is not yet as strong as Coimbatore/Bengaluru. With a VITEEE rank of 24,000, VIT Bhopal CSE is a realistic option. VIT Bhopal has centralized placement through VIT’s Career Development Centre, which is a plus, but Bhopal is still below Vellore/Chennai in brand strength. As based in Delhi, the preference order can be Amrita Faridabad AI & DS > VIT Bhopal CSE > Amrita Haridwar CSE. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
