Worried about my Dawn Phenomenon: How can I control my fasting blood sugar levels?

Good Afternoon Doctor !!! I am Ranjan - Male/53 yrs, 5'7" tall with 67 kg weight. I was detected with T2D in July 2019. Since then with my own effort I lost weight, controlled diet, did regular exercise and managed sound sleep and stress. I took Metformin 500 mg also once daily after dinner. Since July 2022, I am off Metformin 500 mg ( own decision ) as my sugar level used to fall drastically. I have been going for lab tests every quarter & for last one year my results are perfect except that of Fasting Sugar levels which is between the range to 101 & 109 mg/dl. I am still comfortable on restricted diet. I know that I am suffering from Dawn Phenomena. I seek your expert advice to achieve my Fasting Sugar Level between 80 to 90 mg/dl. Kindly advice.

Hi I am RV 54 years of age Male. I was detected with Type 2 Diabetes in July 2019. Since then I changed my diet, increased exercise, took care of sound sleep & stress and took Metformin 500 mg once at night. My type 2 diabetes has reversed and since July 2022 I have stopped Metformin 500 mg of my own as my sugar levels well drastically falling. I am still on restricted diet.I have got blood tests done every 3 months ( last done in June 2023 ) and except for Fasting Sugar, all results are perfect. My Fasting Sugar is in the range of 100 to 109. I know that I am suffering from Down Phenomena. I would be extremely grateful for your expert advice to bring the Fasting Sugar in the target range of 80 to 90 mg/dl.

Ans: If you are experiencing Dawn Phenomena, make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels especially in the evening. Eat dinner earlier in the evening and avoid late night high carb snacks. You can consume a high-fiber low-fat snack before bed to prevent the dawn phenomena. Almonds with plain or turmeric milk, nuts, milk with basil seeds are some examples. These items will control the blood sugar and keep your liver from overproducing glucose.

Ans: Your reports are good. Fasting sugar is not high.
My advise would be to have early dinner before 7 pm

Please check whether you have done any change in your diet. Please check your blood sugar levels 2 hr after breakfast and pre lunch and pre-dinner. That will provide a profile of blood sugar levels.

A comprehensive blood check up including HbA1c, lipid profile, liver function test and information on your weight and height and BMI will help me in guiding the treatment. You might benefit from insulin as well

Ans: Hello;

Sell some of your asset like land, gold or vehicle to repay the loan on priority.

Don't borrow to repay existing loans. Restructure the loans or seek a moratorium till you get a job.

Borrow funds from family and friends explaining your mistakes and promise to repay once you get another job.

Keep in mind the old saying to cut your cloth as per your size and act accordingly.

Ans: With 98 percentile in JEE Mains and OBC-NCL category, you have a very good chance of getting a seat in NITs for CSE or ECE. However, the exact NIT and branch will depend on the JoSAA cutoff ranks. See previous years' cut off

If I failed in class 12 in one subject this year. but passed in jee mains. can i still give advanced? considering that I will pass boards in compartment exams with minimum of 75%. Compartment will be in July and its result gets declared in August. Even if im eligible, wont it affect my councelling process. as it is in june july only?

You are eligible for JEE (Adv) and there will be no effect on the counseling process provided that you must fulfill all the criteria laid by the IIT institutions.

Through joint development agreement with developer,new flats after construction are provided to landowners in lieu of 30% of land provided to developer .There is no cost involved to the owner.What will be tax implications including capital gain for landowner?

Ans: Landowner is liable to pay Income Tax for the portion he is surrendering to the builder. Sale Consideration will be considered as value of developed area on stamp duty rate, you have retained after its Redevelopment.

Hello! I am resident of Canada ,wants to get Rs 40 lakhs from India from my father for making a down payment of property I looking to purchase in Canada.just want to ask do my father have to pay any tax on it, he is looking to sell a plot

Ans: 01. When your father sells a plot in India, he would be subject to Capital Gain Tax (may be Long Term or Short Term), under the I.T.Act.
02. TCS will be collected/deducted, when your father transfer you money.
03. TCS deducted can be claimed back by filing his ITR. Amount of TCS shall be refunded after adjustment of due taxes in his ITR.
04. Please note that both these transactions should be done in the same financial year.
