I am 51years old.my fasting blood sugar between 250 to 350 always.i am taking insulin 4time in a day.how can I control

Ans: Blood sugar levels of 250 to 350mg/dl are out of range. You should consult your family doctor. Dietary control is important , thus start the day with some whole grains like whole wheat, whole oats, millets, etc.
Eat more fiber rich foods like vegetables and fruits. Include beans/legumes which are an excellent source of slowly digested carbohydrate as well as a great source of lean protein. Substitute for meat 1-2 times per week. Avoid sugar and high fat foods like cakes, pastries, chocolates, savories, aerated water, alcohol, etc. Follow a regular exercise regimen to lower body fat.

Sir i am diabetic from last 20 years i am taking medicine but fasting sugar does not come in control and comes as 175-180 however random readings and after 2 hours sugar readings are well in control around 135-145. sir suggest what to do

Ans: It’s essential to address high fasting blood sugar levels and manage your diabetes effectively. Discuss your fasting blood sugar levels and any other symptoms you may be experiencing with your family physician. Focus on a balanced diet with whole grains, lean proteins, and vegetables. Avoid table sugar, honey, jams, fruit juice, and candy. Limit white bread, sweets, fast foods, alcohol, chocolates and processed foods. Regular physical activity can help regulate blood sugar levels.
