Sir, now I Scored 91% in class 12 state board exam in Tamilnadu. I would like to study in UK for my undergraduate programme in the department of Biotechnology. Is Indian government will provide me a scholarship to study in aboard countries like UK. Can you please give me a details about aboard education in UK specifically B.Tech department.

Ans: Well done on scoring 91%
To study Biotechnology in the UK, you can apply for a BSc or BEng (they don’t have a B.Tech system like India, but it’s similar). The course is 3 years.
About Scholarships:
Indian government scholarships for UG abroad are very limited. You can check:
• National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) – mostly for PG, but still check the latest updates.
• Some state government schemes may offer partial support.
UK Universities may offer scholarships directly, like:
• University of Sheffield – International Merit Scholarship
• University of Nottingham – India UG Scholarship
• University of Leeds, University of Bristol, etc. – also give partial tuition fee waivers.
Steps to follow:
1. Start preparing for IELTS (English test).
2. Shortlist 5 universities for Biotechnology.
3. Apply through UCAS – UK’s central application system.
4. Apply early (by Jan of 12th std for Sept intake).
5. Keep documents like SOP, LORs, and transcripts ready.
