My son jee 71.5 and maths 52 p 76 che 75 Any govt instructions available machanical or eee or ece. Any place in india iit or nit or any centra govt instructions.

Ans: With a JEE Main percentile of 71.5 and subject-wise percentiles of 52 in Maths, 76 in Physics, and 75 in Chemistry, your son meets the basic eligibility for JoSAA counselling but may not qualify for top IITs or NITs in competitive branches like CSE or ECE, which generally require 90+ percentile. However, admission to core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering in newer or mid-tier NITs (e.g., NIT Srinagar, NIT Patna, NIT Silchar) and some IIITs or GFTIs is possible. Government instructions require candidates to have passed Class 12 with PCM and a minimum aggregate of 75% (65% for reserved categories) for admission to IITs and NITs. JoSAA counselling begins early June, with multiple rounds to maximize seat allocation.

The recommendation is to participate in JoSAA counselling focusing on core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil in mid-tier NITs and IIITs, while considering GFTIs as alternatives, aligning with eligibility and percentile to secure a government engineering seat. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
