Hii..my daughter has got a seat in VIT under CAT 3 in vellore in Mechanical branch..wanted to know so we wait for MHCET results and make a decision or should I just go ahead with VIT vellore

Ans: You have not mentioned the expected score of your daughter. VIT Vellore’s Mechanical Engineering (Category 3) reports a 50% placement rate (2025) with an average package of ?7.59 LPA and access to 300+ recruiters like TCS and Maruti Suzuki, supported by its NAAC A++ accreditation and QS World Ranking recognition. While core roles constitute 20–30% of offers, VIT’s project-based curriculum and 1,458+ annual recruiters ensure broader IT/consulting opportunities. In contrast, MHCET-based colleges like COEP Pune (2024 Mechanical cutoff: 99.16 percentile) and VJTI Mumbai (cutoff: 99.63 percentile) offer 85–90% placement rates in core sectors through PSUs and automotive giants like Tata Motors, but admission is contingent on achieving ranks ≤10,000 (General category). For mid-tier MHCET colleges (e.g., PICT Pune, D.Y. Patil), placement rates drop to 60–70%, with limited industry linkages compared to VIT. Recommendation: Secure VIT Vellore Mechanical if MHCET rank exceeds 15,000, as top government colleges remain unattainable. If MHCET rank is ≤10,000, prioritize COEP Pune or VJTI Mumbai for cost-effectiveness and core-sector stability. For backups, retain VIT admission while awaiting MHCET results, leveraging its assured infrastructure and global collaborations. All the BEST for your Daughter's Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Hello my daughter's kcet rank is 51,841 and she has both gmk and gmr quota she wants cse branch or cse related branch like aiml, ise, ai, aids etc she is thinking of going to either canara college of engineering manglore or sahyadri college of engineering manglore is it better choice or she wants a better infrastructure with good placement college she is comfortable in both manglore and banglore if she wants to go banglore which are the good college for her from banglore and manglore please suggest us what to do Thank you
Ans: Canara Engineering College, Mangalore offers NBA-accredited CSE programs, computing labs, industry MoUs, 89–95% placement rates with average 5 LPA. Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangalore, NAAC A++ NIRF 151–200, features infrastructure, research-led faculty, training cell, 89% CSE/90% AIML placements with 4 LPA average. In Bangalore, New Horizon College Engineering boasts NAAC A++, AI/DS labs, 69% placement rate, and 6.5 LPA average; MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology records 97% CSE placements and 7.66 LPA average; Dayananda Sagar College shows 67.86% CSE placements with highest 50 LPA; MVJ College achieves 90.9% placements with 4.75 LPA; PES CSE 100% placements, 12 LPA average.

Recommendation: Considering infrastructure, faculty, industry integrations, and placement consistency, prioritize Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management-Mangalore for competitive AI/ML roles, or if opting Bangalore, choose MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology CSE for its 97% placements and strong labs; NHCE and MVJCE are reliable alternatives with robust placement support. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
