Hello Sir/ Madam ; We are from Pune, Maharashtra. My son recently gave CBSE 12 th Boards and wants to pursue Engineering course. He gave IIT Mains and other private college exams like VIT , Symbiosis, Manipal, COMEDK. He has already got seat as follows - Symbiosis Pune - Btech-AIML; VIT/AP -CS with DS in category 2 and Manipal Bangalore- Electronics and Computer Engineering. His MH CET percentile is 96.67 and CAP round counselling is yet to start. His COMEDK rank is 19 K , counselling yet to start. Please advise us in doing right choice for him in terms of institute and Branch considering Internship opportunities/Placement opportunities from already allocated seat/institutes. Also kindly give us insight on chances to get college/branch from MH CET and COMEDK. We are from OPEN Category .Thanks in advance !!

Ans: Let her do BA History. Dont go with the crowd and do Engg, She can post BA History try for MBA if she is not interested in MA at that time.

I am a 4th year BS-MS student majoring in Chemistry IISER Berhampur. I know everyone is aiming for phd after the completion of BS-MS degree. But I don't want to do my phd in india and being belong from a general category, I can't see a job vacancy for me India in future. If I will do phd then I want to go abroad, but if a won't get that then should I prepare for Gate and shift my career with don't M Tech in chemical engineering or any other department related to Chemistry? Can you please suggest

Ans: Going abroad for further education is a good option. If not then can change fields to MTech or can also look at career option in Management by doing MBA

Ans: Depends on her interest. If she is interested in Law then BA LLB, but if she is not sure then BA Hons and then can pursue LLB after graduation

Ans: Check out the job opportunities in UK before you take up the course. There are other European countries where you can do post graduation in. Compare them and then decide.

Ans: Take up graduation that you are interested in, unless you are not sure what you want to do. In which case go for brand name.

Ans: He can try for better college. If he gets it can take it or can continue with VIT. But if he has no other admit at hand then VIT Bhopal as a bird in a hand is worth two in the bush

Hello Sir, My son has got CSBS at VIT AP. He is interested in doing MBA later. So Should we go ahead? Will VIT AP be a good choice?

Ans: If he is clear regarding doing MBA and that is his first priority, then let him not do Engineering as it is more difficult for Engineers to get into MBA college as compared to non engineers. If he is interested in Engg then can take it up.

CS/ CS-AIML at RVCE Bangalore versus BITS Pilani ENC/ EEE at Goa or Hyderabad versus MSC Economics at BITS Pilani

Ans: BITS is known for Engineering, so would recommend Engg over Economics unless one is interested in Economics.
