How can I boost my percentile to 97 after scoring an 86 while making 15 mistakes in OBC category?

Sir, I've been trying very hard everyday. There is so much pressure because it's my 2nd attempt but still I'm getting around 45-60 marks which converts into 75-85 percentile after analysing the mocks. I see myself in 80s. I am making some silly mistakes by not picking up the correct question. I want to know what I should do to pick the right Qs. Will I be able to score 97-98 percentile?

Ans: While writing mocks, I would implore you all to not focus only on the scores

Instead focus your energy to

A. Attempt the test again at home and identify if the shortcoming in scores was due to Time pressure OR due to lack of preparation

B. Identify the strong and weak areas

C. Look at solutions and identify ways to improve your approach.

D. Tabulate all your data so that you can analyse the performance at one go

E. Try and finalize an approach for the next mock

try this and there is no reason not to hit 97/ 98 percentile

My son got CSE main in VIT Chennai in cat 3in second round of couselling, how do you rate as compared to VIT Vellore in placememts . Plz guide

Ans: VIT Chennai/Vellore has centralized placements, but Vellore usually attracts slightly better top recruiters, due to its older brand value. But there is no need to worry much more. Ask your son to focus more on studies and try to maintain the CGP for 4 years. Ask your son to acquire more knowledge through online courses, either on free or paid platforms, always to stay ahead of others.

Hi My son has scored 264 in JEE advanced. We are expecting rank under 200. We live in Pune. IIT-Bombay CSE won't be possible for him but we considering IIT Madras CSE. IIT Delhi CSE or IIT Bombay ECE. We are leaning towards IIT Madras CSE mainly because 1. He likes CS 2. Madras seems safer and more spacious and healthier than IIT Delhi Do you have any suggestions on how to evaluate these options or any other option we should consider?

Ans: CSE @ IIT Madras is an excellent choice. While ECE @ IIT Bombay is better only if he is open to core electronics alongside coding.

Ans: He can hope for branches like Electrical, MnC, Engineering Physics, or lower-branch options in old IITs, and CSE and allied branches in the newer IITs.

Sir, Kindly suggest the better option between IIIT Allahabad (IT) and MNNIT Allahabad ( CSE) for admission through Jossa 2026.JEE mains CRL 5344 home state UP

Ans: Preference order may be: CSE @ MNNIT > IT @ IIIT Allahabad. Your preference order may be different for many reasons.

Ans: There is no issue with the specified CSE+Bio branch w.r.t. PCM students. Placements are quite good, but there is an issue with the biology component for the students.

Sir, my COMEDK exam was in the first shift on 9th May this year. I scored 85 marks. What is the rank that I can expect, and what will be my chances to get CSE Core or CSE Spec in SIT, Tumkur?

Ans: You can hope for CSE specialisation, plus a possible outside chance for CSE at SIT in later rounds. (No suairity). Keep an alternative backup ready.

My son getting thapar cse n lnmiit cse most probably. He got 99.2 in jee mains general from haryana. Intrested in cse or it or any cs allued branch in jac delhi .pls guide . Shd we opt thapar cse as backup ?

Ans: He can hope CS-allied branches @ JAC Delhi (DTU/NSUT IT-SE-MnC), so keep Thapar/LNMIIT CSE as backup but prefer JAC Delhi if allotted.
