Hello sir,my son is doing masters in regional planning from SPA, Delhi. He did bachelor's in Planning from Manipal University, Jaipur... Please suggest where he should apply for job...he is 28 .His hometown is Udaipur.Father is in government job and mother is a teacher.

Ans: Hello!

It's great to hear that your son is pursuing a master's degree in regional planning. When it comes to finding a job in this field, there are several options he can explore. Here are some suggestions:

Government Agencies: Given his background and the fact that his hometown is Udaipur, he can consider applying for positions in government agencies related to urban and regional planning. He can check for job openings at the state and local government levels, as well as national organizations like the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Private Sector: Many private companies and consulting firms hire regional planners to work on projects related to urban development, infrastructure planning, and sustainable design. He can look for opportunities with firms that specialize in urban planning and development.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs): There are NGOs and non-profit organizations that focus on urban and regional development. Your son can explore opportunities with these organizations, especially if he has a passion for community development and sustainability.

Research and Academia: If he has a strong interest in research and teaching, he can consider pursuing a career in academia. He can look for research assistant positions, teaching opportunities, or even consider a Ph.D. program if he wants to go further in this direction.

Urban Development Authorities: In addition to government agencies, many cities and regions have their own urban development authorities or corporations. These entities often hire urban planners to work on city planning and development projects.

Networking: Encourage your son to network with his professors, classmates, and alumni from SPA, Delhi. Networking can often lead to job opportunities and valuable connections in the field.

Online Job Portals: Advise him to regularly check online job portals, such as LinkedIn, Naukri.com, and government job portals, for job postings related to regional planning.

It's important for him to tailor his job search based on his interests, skills, and career goals. Additionally, he should keep his resume updated, prepare for interviews, and consider seeking guidance from his professors and career advisors at SPA, Delhi, as they can provide valuable insights and job leads.

Regards,
Abhishek Shah

I have completed my msc in biochemistry n now doing internship but I am confusing about my future because I see this field don't pay me inuff for life even for future... N don't have more jobs in Maharashtra. I don't like production jobs but in Pharma only production pay much so what can I do .. Can u suggest me which job is high payable after Msc biochemistry
Ans: Hi Nandu,

Greetings!

Could you please let me know which year you completed your course and whether you are currently doing an internship or apprenticeship? An internship is part of the curriculum, where students gain practical training, sometimes with a stipend and sometimes without. After completing your course, you can opt for an apprenticeship, which typically lasts one to one and a half years and includes a stipend, usually split 50%-50% between the industry and government.

If you are in the internship phase, please inform me about the specific field you are working in. Initially, you may not expect a high salary, but after gaining expertise in your field, your compensation will improve. Typically, this takes about three years, so it’s important to focus on skill acquisition for a better future.

If your internship aligns with your field of study, I encourage you to continue and consider starting a medical lab or exploring opportunities in medical devices related to biochemistry. However, pursuing a career in pharmaceutical production may not be suitable for you, as it is a different field, and you may find it challenging to grasp the processes involved since you are currently inexperienced in that area.

Please share the specific field of your internship, and I would be happy to provide more tailored advice.
with regards
