Hello, am a 49 year old female, detected with chondromalacea patella. My right knee is stiff and nota ble to walk properly. Have consulted the Orthopedic but not much improvement. Kindly suggest what should I do. Can you pls suggest any collagen supplement and does that help.

Have you shown a good physiotherapist? If not, please do. Certain exercises for the knee, hip, calf, core and also some heat/electrical modalities given by a physio can help you towards pain relief and also to prevent further degeneration.
You should also test your Vit D3 and Vit B12 levels as those along with calcium and multivitamins can help. Yes, collagen supplement may also help. Regarding this it is better to ask your orthopedic or general physician to prescribe.
Also I believe a lot in holistic approach so applying ghee and gently massaging around knee cap may help you.

For the FY 23-24, my income from salary is ?7,02,876 as per form 16. I also have interest income of ?9,120. I also sold mutual funds and had long term capital gains of ?87,983. I want to know as to how my total income and tax would be computed. I was under the impression that my salaries and interest income will be treated differently and will not be eligible for tax under the new tax regime and my long term capital gain will be exempted since it is less 1 lakh, thus resulting in nil income tax. Is it correct or not?

Ans: Assuming mutual fund redeemed are equity based scheme, tax on said redemption will be NIL. Tax on salary and interest will be Rs26,200 plus cess.

Hello Sir, I have a private limited company which had turnover of Rs. 24.5 cr but losses Rs. 4 cr. We have debt of Rs. 5 crores and other liabilities are approx Rs. 5 crores. Banks are not giving us loan for working capital. What should we do to get the equity investment so that we can reduce the burden of debt and other liabilities and also continue our business. The prospects for the FY 2023-24 are good if we get to run the business without any stress of liabilities.

Ans: This requires deeper understanding of the nature of your business, its financial performance, the capital structure, the prospects of your industry, the differentiation that your business has vs competition, the quality of your team etc before one can consider an equity investment. I am not privy to such info. You may want to consult a financial advisor.

There are several opportunities but you need to focus on those which
1) are relevant to your/your daughter's experience, expertise,network, passion,
2) take into account finance available or that can be organised by you, plus
3) offer growing prospects.
There are several cross-border opportunities. I would request you to do a lot of research, secondary first, and then primary. That will help you understand which specific niche you might want to target. You will need to talk to others too to see if they are looking for such partners. You must demonstrate what you can offer such partners.
There are several such cross-border examples in Information tech/ software/ IT enabled services, in various forms of consulting, in bespoke fashion, and more. Pl start your research

Dear Mr. Chandu, I am having 13 YoE in my professional journey out of which I spend 10 years in my own startup from which I took exit with 2.5 Cr in cash which I invested for my family's financial cushion. Post that I joined a startup as 1st employee which didn't do good and I left after 2 years. Then I joined another startup as 1st employee which is looking decent to work with but not that rewarding financially. As my daughter is around 2 years at present, I'd like to start again in next 2-3 years. Does my working as employee in early stage startups dilute my image as a entrepreneur with successful exit in terms of getting funding for my next idea?

Ans: Nothing come easy, Anon ji. You must learn how to fish (how to become an entrepreneur) than be fed fish (get readymade business ideas). What works for one may not work for another. If you have money and want to work on tried and tested models, you could consider becoming a franchisee. Since you don't have money, nor do I have any idea of your experience or expertise, you would have to do some research and figure out what interests you AND is also a great opportunity. Work in that field first and gain experience and connections.

Sir, I am 33 years old, unmarried.... I was running my family business for the last eight years...we were in a very bad situation in 2015 since I joined but now our business is doing decently good, but not good enough as per my expectations. My father is taking care of the business now. We supply regular office equipments, also help in marketing of companies like designing their advertisements and putting up their bill boards and hoarding. We also organise office events and parties. But I am not satisfied with the growth or the future potential of the business. I want to shift to something new and desire to work in the financial management field as I had wanted since I was studing CA. I had left CA in the middle and only my finals of CA is left, I am done with inter which I cleared in first attempts and articleship and all. Do you think it'll be okay to give my finals with good marks and use my experience in business and start a job in a good company. Is that possible, plz let me know???

Ans: It may be a good idea to focus on completing your CA, that is a useful qualification to get a well-paying job; it also will come in handy if you decide to continue in your business or create a new path. At this juncture, it looks like you would like to gain greater exposure in new fields and not get stuck in a rut.

Ans: Section 54F of the IT Act allows an exemption on capital gain from the sale of any property other than a residential house wherein Taxpayer should invest the net sales amount of the old property in purchase of a new residential house.
