Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), he holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and a an MTech degree in computer technology from Jadavpur University.

Dear Sir My son got IT branch in MIT Manipal and also CSE in KJ Somaiya vidya vihar. We are from Thane and do not mind sending him to Manipal for his better future. Please advise. Regards Prashanth

Ans: CSE at KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar is a strong choice if proximity and convenience are important. It offers a good Computer Science program with the advantage of staying close to home.
IT at MIT Manipal might be preferable if you prioritize a strong national reputation and are comfortable with the distance. The quality of education and overall environment at Manipal can be very beneficial for his future career.

Ans: Mainpal (Main Campus) is one of the top-ranked Universities. But for some students, Mainpal Main Campus is not advisable. If your son is mentally strong enough & highly mature with good Emotional Intelligence / Emotional Quotient, he can go ahead with Manipal Main Campus. Else, work out Plan B & Plan C. Hope you have understood. Whatever Institute / University & Branch your Son chooses, he should keep upgrading his skills from his 1st year itself till his Campus Placement during his last year, from LinkedIn, Coursera, NPTEL, Internshala etc. and / or any other online platforms, recommended by his College Faculties, to be COMPETENT among other Students.

And what you want does not align with what you got- if that bothers you then you can rethink this. But also consider this one thing- what if your next partner treats you the same way? Would that be okay? Do you think these factors should matter in a relationship? Think hard on this and make your choice.

my son has got 96.5 percentile in jee mains. He is preparing for advanced. However he is not very confident of getting a good rank this time and is considering to take. drop to prepare better. Ans: Dear Mr. Yusuf. Thank you for your query. Considering I am Physiotherapist, I would answer from Physiotherapist perspective. To lower cholesterol from a physiotherapy perspective, focus on a combination of aerobic exercise, strength training, and flexibility work. Engage in brisk walking, cycling, or jogging for at least 30–45 minutes daily to improve heart health and lipid metabolism. Incorporate strength training 2–3 times a week with bodyweight exercises or weights to enhance muscle mass and fat burning. Avoid prolonged sitting by standing up every 30–45 minutes and engaging your core while working to improve posture and circulation. A fiber-rich diet with whole grains, vegetables, nuts, and lean proteins supports cholesterol reduction while minimizing saturated fats and refined sugars. Managing stress through breathing exercises, yoga, or meditation helps regulate cortisol levels, which can impact cholesterol. Lastly, ensure 7–8 hours of quality sleep daily, as poor sleep can contribute to high cholesterol and metabolic issue. Wish you healthy life.
