I got 97.6 in mhtcet. I want cse branch Which is better Tsec/Vesit/vit(vidyalankar mumbai) And will I get the first two???

Ans: Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC) offers AICTE- and NAAC-accredited CSE with PhD-qualified faculty, specialized software and networking labs, and 85–90% placement consistency over the past three years; its General-Home State closing percentile in 2024 was 98.69–98.79. Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology (VESIT) provides NBA-accredited CSE with advanced AI/ML and cybersecurity facilities, mandatory internships and 82–88% placements, closing at around 98.21–98.37 in the General-Open State category. Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT), NAAC A+ and NBA-accredited, features modern computing and data-science labs, industry linkages and 75–85% CSE placement rates, with a 2023 closing percentile of 96.84 in Computer Engineering under the General-Home State category.

Recommendation:
With a 97.6 percentile, the recommendation is Vidyalankar Institute of Technology CSE for assured admission and robust placement outcomes. Please guide me in choosing between the following options (1) ECE in VIT Vellore in category 4 (already booked a seat) (2) ETC in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (3) CSE or ECE in MIT-WPU Pune (4) Electronics in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (5) ETC in MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune (6) CSE in KJ Somaiya Institute of Technology, Vidyavihar in Mumbai. I am only looking for CSE or circuital branches like Electronics, ETC, ECE, etc. My percentile in MHTCET is 92 so please suggest if you have any better options for me.

Ans: CSE at Somaiya or MIT WPU are good options.

Ans: You have a chance for ECE/ELC/EAC and AI & Data Science mainly at Amrita Bengaluru or Amaravati campuses, while Coimbatore for these branches seems to be challenging.

Ans: You need around 99.7+ percentile (roughly 160-170+ marks, depending on shift difficulty). The best realistic alternatives for CSE/IT/E&TC are COEP Technological University, SPIT, DJ Sanghvi College of Engineering, PICT, and Walchand College of Engineering. But your game depends on the marks you scored. You did not mention which standard you are in, i.e., whether you are an appearing or appeared aspirant. Hence, your query is totally vague. The percentile/cutoff changes every year. Instead of thinking too much, try to score as much as possible.

Ans: Your son can get ECE, EEE, Electronics & Computer/ELC, Mechanical, and allied branches at Amrita Coimbatore. In contrast, CSE/Core AI branches are unlikely, but CSE specializations may be borderline in later rounds/slabs, depending on competition.

Ans: You have to think about the preference order as: VIT Vellore > Amrita Coimbatore/Amritapuri > SRM KTR. And branches: CSE > CSE Specialization > IT > ECE; if getting a decent branch at VIT/Amrita, avoid lower-core branches unless your son has a strong specific interest.

Ans: Amritapuri/Chennai is possible mainly in later rounds (with a better chance at Chennai). CSE Slab-1 at Amaravati is possible, but CSE Slab-1 at Amritapuri/Chennai is unlikely.

Ans: Deva, With 94.9 percentile in JEE Main 2026, your likely CRL may be around 75,000–80,000. For Amrita Coimbatore, chances for CSE Core are difficult, because CSE at Coimbatore generally needs a very strong AEEE/JEE rank; recent estimates place Coimbatore CSE around 92–99 percentile for home-state/AEEE category and 95–99.5 for other-state, while ECE is around 85–95 home-state and 90–97 other-state. Since Tamil Nadu is relevant for Coimbatore home-state consideration, ECE at Coimbatore is possible/moderate, while CSE specialization may be a better try than CSE Core. For SASTRA, chances are better, especially if your Class 12 marks are strong. SASTRA uses JEE Main + Class 12 marks for 70% seats and Class 12 marks only for 30% seats. Prefer: SASTRA CSE/IT → Amrita Coimbatore ECE → Amrita CSE-specialization/Amritapuri/Chennai → VIT/SRM/SSN/SNU/Sathyabhama/Thiagarajar/Kumaraguru, etc. as backups. Ans: Madhuri, With AEEE rank 8,600, chances are good for ECE/EEE/ELC in major campuses, but CSE Core depends strongly on the home state/other state quota, fee slab, and round movement. Recent 2025 rank estimates show Coimbatore CSE: 700–8000 for Home State / 350–4000 for Other State students, so 8,600 is slightly risky there. Amritapuri CSE: 1500–9000 for Home State/800–5000 for Other State students, so possible if Home State and difficult if Other State. CSE specialization at Amritapuri may be possible up to around 11k HS, but it's tougher for OS. ECE is more realistic in Coimbatore, Amritapuri, and Bengaluru, and EEE/ELC chances are stronger. Preference order can be Coimbatore CSE/CSE-Specialisation if available, Amritapuri CSE/CSE-Specialisation, Bengaluru CSE-S/ECE, Chennai/Amaravati CSE, and then ECE at Coimbatore/Amritapuri/Bengaluru. Ans: At the 84th percentile, the expected CRL may be around 2.3–2.5 lakh, so CSE Core in NIT/IIIT/GFTI through JoSAA is very unlikely. You can try CSAB Special Round only as a chance for lower-demand branches, not CSE Core. The best practical route is to use AP EAPCET/AP counselling and target Andhra University College of Engineering, JNTU Kakinada/Anantapur, SVUCE Tirupati, GVPCE Visakhapatnam, VR Siddhartha, RVR & JC, Vignan, SRKR, Vishnu Institute, GMRIT for CSE/IT/AI-DS if rank permits. AP EAPCET colleges and rank-wise lists are published through APSCHE/counselling sources. Backup private options with scholarships: VIT-AP, SRM-AP, Amrita Amaravati, KL University, LPU, Chandigarh University, UPES, Bennett. Can I get cse in amrita with 20533 rank in amritapuri

Ans: Joseph, With AEEE rank 20,533, CSE Core at Amrita Amritapuri is unlikely, especially if you are from another state. Amrita’s official admission page says there is no fixed cutoff; allotment depends on AEEE/JEE rank, seat availability and preferences each year. Recent rank-vs-branch estimates show Amritapuri CSE around 1.5k–9k for Home State and 800–5000 for Other State, while CSE specializations may stretch slightly higher but still generally be below your rank. Older published cutoff data also placed Amritapuri CSE around 6,940 Open / 16,547 State, indicating 20,533 is risky for core CSE. Better Amrita backups: try ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Electronics & Computer Engineering, or lower-demand branches in Amritapuri, Chennai, Amaravati, or Bengaluru.
