Sir, My daughter has got admission in Computer Science Engineering in VIT AP and Information Technology in MIT Jaipur. And she got 92% percentile in Maharashtra Common Engineering Test. Can please suggest between VIT AP & MIT JAIPUR. As we are currently staying in Mumbai and may continue for a few years, please suggest some good engineering colleges for her percentile. Thanks and Regards

Ans: Hi Mallipudi. Before starting the CAP rounds of M.S. State, you confirmed admission in two colleges. It is your choice to choose one of them. But, choosing Jaipur will be more preferable. Depending on her score 92%, it is difficult for her to get admission in Govt College. But she can get admission in some good private colleges. Depending on her choice, fill the options carefully in CAP rounds. But as you have chosen CS and IT in two colleges, it seems that your daughter has inclination towards CS or IT. On 92 score, you may get CS or IT in Mumbai or Pune-based colleges in the 3rd round, if seats remain vacant. PICT, VIT, PVG, AISSM are good options in Pune and you can search for better options in Mumbai.

Ans: No, you CANNOT get a seat in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs if you do not meet the 75% board criteria (or top 20 percentile of your board).

Sir I passed 12th board with 65 percent from cbse in 2024 and i didn't appear for jee mains that year but i reappeared for improvement this year to cross the threshold of 75 criteria but i feel i have low chances and i really want a good govt college so my question is should i take a double drop and appear as a candidate from nios board and if i do am i an eligible candidate for jee adv for 2026

Ans: ou can attempt JEE Advanced only twice, in consecutive years after passing Class 12.

Since you passed Class 12 in 2024, you are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025, but not for 2026 under normal circumstances.

If you clear the 75% criteria in 2025 (CBSE improvement) → Take JEE in 2025 (Best Option).

If you fail to meet 75% in 2025 → Consider switching to NIOS and appearing for JEE in 2026.

Hi, My son was born in USA. He is a OCI/card holder. He came to India when he was 3 years old.From then, he has been studying In A.P, India only. Now he is in his 11th grade, CBSE. Now for IIT, NIT, BITS, IIIT, and any other college admissions, will he be treated as Foreigner category( Management quota) or Indian category. And What will be the fee structure, Is it at par with the Indian nationals or more?

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur (IT)

Mizoram University (CSE)
