I completed my 10th in 2017. I am looking to take the NIOS 12th exam in 2026, followed by the IIT JEE in the same year. Will I be eligible for the exam despite the significant gap, considering I will be 24 years old in 2026? Iam i eligible for IIT JEE exam any problem if I crack jee will they accept me?

Ans: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and JEE Advanced as of the most recent guidelines. ear of Passing the Qualifying Exam:

For JEE Main, candidates should have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination in the year they are appearing for the exam or in one of the two preceding years.
For JEE Advanced, candidates should have appeared for their 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in the year of the JEE Advanced exam or the year before.

Yes, if you appear for your 12th again through NIOS in the 2025–26 session and pass in 2026, then you will be eligible for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2026, as your new qualifying exam year will be 2026. I would like to suggest that instead of wasting time on JEE (M) and JEE (A), appear for a state-level engineering test and score well to get admission to a top-tier college without any headache. In the final year of UG, appear for GATE and clear it to get admission to PG in IIT. This is the golden path to enter into IIT.

my son got 2528 ST category rank whether he will get seat in IISER

Ans: With an ST category rank of 2528 in the IISER Aptitude Test, your son is unfortunately not eligible for admission to any of the IISERs, as the closing ranks for the ST category in recent years have consistently been much lower—typically between 54 and 475 across all IISER campuses, including Pune, Berhampur, Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, and Kolkata. Even at the most accessible IISERs, such as Berhampur and Tirupati, the ST closing ranks have not exceeded 475 in the latest rounds, and cutoffs are expected to remain in this range for 2025 due to increased competition and limited seats.
