I am a communication plus L&D trainer since 3 years. I am an experienced music teacher and a performer past 15 years. I want to leave my corporate job which is a BPO industry and want to move to a different industry where I can from home considering my skill set.

Now that you have had enough of the banking industry that banked on you and you on them for last 17 year's and many an aspirant clamouring for a bake.. Oops bank!?

Here you say you are done and dusted, so what's in your mind, I really don't know your core competence and qualifications, abilities and capacities!?
So why should I shoot of my hip ... Suggest I mean!?

I believe you need to understand whats in store, when you do a cross career switch, where your core competence of finance and accounting procedures, may be needed in NBFC and corporations.. O did I suggest.. Yes I did.. Go to corporate website go to careers and swing in your CV.. they may or will bank on you and your expertise!

Ans: Check up different placement agency ore recruitment firms. Check if they are hiring or if they can look at openings in that area. Connect with your batch mates from college and check if you can get any project or any job even if it is entry level.

Ans: Dear Gayatri,

First understand which industry your interests is in.
Understand any shift you will do it will be from scratch that means you need to have patience until you built it
If you interest lies in the IT industry understand your skills (do SWOT analysis) and see basis your skills what value add can you bring.
Upgrade your skills as per the industry by taking up few courses

I am aged 49 with a 27 year career in IT - 21.5 years as individual contributor and rest in leadership role. In my last employment, I was asked to go after successfully executing a project; later on, I found that they hired me just for that project only. For the last 4 months, I have been applying for jobs but it looks like that my age goes against me. I have completed a four month course in AIML, learning new programming languages and keeping myself abreast with the latest trends. The differentiating aspect of my leadership is being hands-on; while the team gains confidence, my peers and leaders feel that I am being too indulgent. In some of the interviews that really went well, I was rejected as my technical capabilities seems to have threatened the incumbents. I have achieved the financial freedom and doesn't require a salary to keep the kitchen fires buring but I crave an engagement to retain my knowledge. Please guide
