hi my son appeared cbse 2023 in PCM stream and get 91 % marks and also appeared jee and get 88 % in general catagery,now what can decision take to us. he want to drop and preparation of jee 2024 with ews catagery please guide to us

Ans: Sir,
admission through JEE is highly competitive. It will require at least 97 percentile & above for a decent college.
If he can achieve this then only go for a repeat attempt.

Sir my son got 90 percent in boards (PCM) And he got 75% in jee mains .He did not prepared for jee .Should be take a drop year?

If his interest is in Computer Science / Core Engineering branches at good NITs, IIITs, or top private colleges, then a drop makes sense.

Sir my son got 92 percentile in 2024 JEE, and took drop to give exam again in 2025. This time he could achieve only 86 percentile. Now he is again thinking of one more drop. He is general category and with existing JEE ranks he had offers in CSE in RVU and RU. He is very particular of Computer science , please advice

Ans: Don't take drop. Take Computer Science wherever he is getting.

My son will appear for 12th cbse in 2026 and is in parallel preparing for JEE .So as per current rules his latest attempt in JEE advanced will 2027 only and not 2028. I want to understand how we can make the 2028 attempt applicable? as currently his preparation level is not upto mark for advanced. Please suggest amongst following options or if any other option is there to get 2028 attempt in Jee advanced ? I know that other options for jee main, & other good colleges are there but i specifically need to know for Jee advanced perspective. Age limit is not an issue , presently he has completed 17ys on April 26, 2025. 1) Is it advisable to join 11th again now in state board ( presently registered for 12th in cbse & detail sent by school to cbse).Now repeating 11th from state board will then allow him 2 attempts as 12th he will be passing in 2027 , JEE advanced 2027 & 2028 he will be able to attempt ( in this case he will not register for Jee main this year 2025 (adv 2027) ) . 2) He may not appear for CBSE 12th boards exams in 2026 not even in any subject or not even in practicals (may be due to medical reasons) , and also will not register for Jee main this year 2025 (adv 2027) , and will give CBSE 12th board exam in 2027 again , and then register for Jee main in 2026 (adv 2027) .Now as his 12th will be in 2026 , the will he get 2nd attempt of jee advanced in 2028? What will happen if he appeared in practical of 12th cbse board , but not in written exams ? 3) He may not appear for CBSE 12th in 2026 and also will not register for Jee main this year 2025 (adv 2027) , he will give NIOS 12th in 2027 again , and then register for Jee main in 2026 (adv 2027) , Now as his 12th will be in 2026 , the will he get 2nd attempt of jee advanced in 2028? Kindly let me know what are the possible options to get 2 attempts 2027 & 2028 for jee advanced for him now. Also it give his opportunity to participate on physics Olympiads NSEP with full preparation in 2026. Also can in any way the above decision can be negative impact for his future ( Jobs selection or further study , or others) ...(keeping aside the social/emotional part) Regards Saahil Saxena

Ans: To secure JEE Advanced attempts in both 2027 and 2028, your son’s qualifying examination year must be treated as 2027. Repeating Class 12 in 2027 is the simplest path. Registering as a private CBSE or NIOS candidate for the 2027 board exam ensures his pass year is 2027, making him eligible for Advanced in 2027 and again in 2028. Repeating Class 11 unnecessarily adds workload without benefit, since only the Class 12 passing year matters for Advanced attempts. Skipping practicals or written CBSE exams in 2026 without formal withdrawal could lead to a “fail” status and may disqualify him from using 2027 as his first pass year. Opting for NIOS Class 12 in 2027 offers flexibility in exam scheduling and credit transfers for any passed subjects, while providing the required pass year. This approach also frees up 2026 for focused Olympiad preparation without hampering future job prospects or higher studies, as board re-examination is common and does not negatively impact resume credibility. Ensure timely registration—CBSE private candidate forms open February–March 2026, NIOS admissions close January 2026—and plan JEE Main registration for 2026 accordingly, securing Advanced eligibility in the following two years. My 12 year old son has 2 parallel lines of teeth. One front and the other behind. So far in the behind only 2 teeths are there one in each side. Will this cause any serious issues for him? He has speech problem. Could this be the reason? Does he need to take any immediate corrective procedure?

Ans: Hello
This situation of "2 parallel lines of teeth" arises when permanent teeth erupt BEFORE the deciduous teeth (or milk teeth) have been shed. This indicates a mis-alignment of the permanent teeth. The shedding of milk teeth is dependent on the permanent teeth exerting pressure on them as they grow.
This mis-alignment, indeed, could be the cause of his speech problem.
My advice to you is to consult a competent pediatric dentist or an orthodontist (a dentist who realigns crooked teeth) soon so that corrective measures can be taken.

My front teeth is broken I fell down from my bike while dog is chasing me . I went to dentist i got broken teeth cemented . dentist advised me not to chew anything with cemented teeth it's a life time instruction. It is very discomfort to me .Is there any treatment such that I can chew even with repaired tooth

Sorry to hear about your fall and the resultant damage to your teeth.
Honestly, it's best to follow your dentist's advice, but I understand your problem. Eating can be a challenge.
Please ask your dentist about sturdier alternatives like dental crowns or bridges. These can provide extra protection and might let you chew more comfortably.

In the meantime, stick to soft foods which do not put pressure on your compromised teeth, or soups. You can also try cutting your food into smaller pieces to reduce pressure on the tooth.

My married ex still texts me for comfort. Because of him, I am unable to move on. He makes me feel guilty by saying he got married out of family pressure. His dad is a cardiac patient and mom is being treated for cancer. He comforts me by saying he will get separated soon and we will get married because he only loves me. We have been in a relationship for 14 years and despite everything we tried, his parents refused to accept me, so he chose to get married to someone who understands our situation. I don't know when he will separate from his wife. She knows about us too but she comes from a traditional family. She also confirmed there is no physical intimacy between them. I trust him, but is it worth losing my youth for him? Honestly, I am worried and very confused.

I understand how difficult it is to let go of a relationship you have built from scratch, but is it really how you want to continue? It really seems to be going nowhere. His parents are already in bad health and he married someone else for their happiness. Does it seem like he will be able to leave her? So many people’s happiness and lives depend on this one decision. I think it’s about time you and your BF have a clear conversation about the same. If he can’t give a proper timeline, please try to understand his situation. But also make sure he understands yours and maybe rethink this equation. It really isn’t healthy. You deserve a love you can have wholly, and not just in pieces, and in the shadows.

Hi Anu, My husband doesn't do house chores. We both work full-time, but I still end up cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. When I ask for help, my partner will say, ‘Just tell me what to do,’ but then he conveniently forgets. Maybe he doesn't like it or he is genuinely forgetful. I have tried many ways to make him explain. Once I only did my share of laundry to make him realise but he simply ignored. Every week this pattern repeats. Is this normal? How can married couples divide responsibilities fairly to avoid fights?

Every home has a different routine and share of responsibilities. So, there's no standard norm to challenge it as normal or not!
So, if you want your husband to pitch in, then say it in clear terms, especially since he has told you to tell him what to do.
Once you have told him, do make sure to ask him: Will you find it convenient to do it now or later? If later, when?
This will ensure that he makes a statement of commitment, so there's no question of forgetting it, right? Play it smart...it's better than feeling bad about the situation or mulling over why something does not work.

Ans: Hi Sumanta
I assume your son is not enrolled in any foundation program for the IIT Entrance Exam. He must enroll in good training institute, for a 2 year program. Please ensure the coaching is good, not some kind of franchisee taken by some local person. rest they will take care of. By 11th end his 70% syllabus must be over, means He starts in April 2026, then in Apr-May 2027 his 70% syllabus must have been completed.
