Pradeep Pramanik is a career coach, placement consultant and director at Fast Track Career Consultants, which provides career counselling, soft skills training and placement consultancy services.
Pradeep, who hails from Bhagalpur in Bihar, has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years in sales, marketing, training and product management roles in companies like Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Elder Pharmaceuticals and Ranbaxy Laboratories.

Actually i am a female automobile 3rd year engineering student in government college of engineering, erode. I want a RTO job, so what can i do?

Ans: Dear , You are in right direction . Many Engineers crack various public services exams like UPSC/ State Public Services
etc . The Transpoment under state Govts often publish vacancies to fill up their posts like MVI / ARTO etc after wich one gets promotion to become Regional Transport officer to Head a region . But you need toclear the exam and then get transport deptt. Your qualification will not get you direct posting as RTO .

Hi sir, I had completed my m.tech in transportation engineering in 2012. After working for 6 month as assistant professor I had to quit my job due to complications in my pregnancy and couldn't join after that. After 6 years I was able to get back. So I decided to try my luck in govt job. I passed exam but couldn't crack interview well. My lack of confidence and lack in experience was the reason. Again took a gap as I was carrying and now my girl started her schooling. I truly want to build a career for myself. Can you please help me.

Few things

Firstly, take pride in the fact that you have prioritised family over career,

it's a great thing, never feel regret. When you meet people and when they ask why career break, with pride tell them you value your family much more than anything else.

Now coming to career, yes you can start, you will face challenges but let them be stepping stones for success and not slipping stones.

Suggest you first decide whether you want to get back to academic or want to join corporate world.

Then upskill yourself by taking few online courses in domain of your choice..

Given your degree in transportation SCM would be a good choice and it's also a booming industry. Ecom, quick commerce, b2b logistics.

I have transferred some of my Mutual Fund investments to my daughter as a gift. Do I need to make a gift deed? Do I need to register it? What will it cost me to register it?

Ans: As on today transferring or gifting mutual fund units is a difficult topic(gray area) that needs to be addressed by the regulators. When you say you have transferred, I suppose you have redeemed your holding and purchased units in the name of your daughter who is a major(above 18 years). No need for gift deed in such case.

Other ways could be through nomination, joint holding

To appear for JEE (Adv) you have to clear first JEE (Main). It will be difficult for you to match with the syllabus after a huge gap of 2 years. But nothing is impossible. If you qualify in JEE (Main) cutoff, you certainly can appear for JEE (Adv)

Here are some key points a student must try to follow-
(1) Build Strong Technical Skills in C++, Python, and Java, and Practice on LeetCode, HackerRank, and Codeforces. Work on OS, DBMS, Networking, and OOPs.. Try to gain proficiency in front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Django).
(2) Focus on Competitive Coding like CodeChef, HackerRank, or Google Kickstart
(3) Work on Projects for web development, AI, or mobile apps
(4) Create an attractive LinkedIn profile. Attend tech webinars, hackathons, and coding contests to connect with industry peers.
(5) Use platforms like Internshala, AngelList, LinkedIn, and company career portals to search for internships.
(6) Practice mock coding interviews and aptitude tests on platforms like InterviewBit or Pramp to prepare for campus placement interviews.

Suggestion: Manipal MIT has an edge regarding global exposure and infrastructure. All are top institutions, but Manipal offers more global exposure, while Amrita focuses on research and ethics.

Please decide as per your convenience, and distance. Please compare the fee structure of all the institutions.
