Hi Dr. I have very slight pain on my left of chest, near to heart. This remains cont. Same intensity of pain even on brisk walking. I got myself examined for echo, ECG and triptenine blood test also. All was normal. Triglyceride is normally at 240. I am now taking Aspirin 75 and cholesterol medicine 10mg. Is it really a pain related to heart? Should I go for CT angiography?

Ans: you are suffering from atypical chest pain. CT Coronary angiography would help rule out any coronary artery stenosis and may be done

Dear Doctor, I am 61 yrs young. My BP is 140/85 or 136/80 with Olsar A40 in the morning. I had Angina pain, Was a smoker-now left for good for last 9 months. Cholosterol is normal-ECG ECHO 2D TMT ECG all normal-Angiography normal, I am taking Revelol XL 50 in morning-Nikoran 10 OD in morning,Ecosprun gold at night.Now despite all tests normal,i have intermittent slight pain atleast twice daily inside the last 2 left rib cage.Chest x-ray was normal.What could be the reason?

Ans: Observe when do you get this pain. Is there an aggregating or relieving factor for this pain?
If this happens soon after meals, or after a particular food, pay attention to that.
What is the quality of the pain? If it is pricking then unlikely to be of cardiac cause

Hi Dr Ashit, Whenever i have physcial exertion (even walking for 30 mins, or light activity), i develop chest pain on left side; been to ER and done all possible tests like ECG, Echo, TMT and even CT Angiography, but no issues found. This has been happening for last 10 years and visited hospitals many times for this. Speaking on phone while walking also induces chest pain, which goes away after 12-24 hours. What should i do to diagnose and fix this problem? Grateful if you can help

Ans: Do you have any pain in the neck. What kind of pain do you have ? Is it a shooting pain, a burning pain or just heaviness? Do you have any symptoms of " acidity". I think you need to give a detailed history

I am 67 years, a vegetarian ,no alcohol, no smoking. I do walk for 45 minutes every. On Metosartan for BP. I keep getting chest pain Off and On. Consulted cardiologist who did Echo, ECG, Treadmill test. Everything is normal. he says it could be due to gas in the abdomen, Abdomen scan reveals everything is normal, except slight prostate enlargement. Doctor has prescribed medication for acidity. Pain in chest appears appears while climbing stairs or on any higher slopes. Is it due to any artery blockage? Are there any non-invasive tests which can reveal it?

Ans: Blocks in arteries can be picked up through Angiogram Another option could be get your BP monitored 24 hrs through Ambulatory BP check up ,This assesses the risk in getting a cardiac set back

Hi, I am 36 yrs old and have been working in a PSU bank as a senior manager. But i feel i will not have much more growth here. Ans: Can try both and see where you get a better college. Actually there would be more scope doing MBA abroad for a student like you who is in Mid Career. In India most of the executive MBA courses are for students with 5 to 10 years of work experience. But do check the placements in the college before you decide.

My son, 22 year old, done his BBA honors in HR from Somaiya college Mumbai. He has shifted his focus from HR to Supply Chain. Now he is doing 2 yrs Masters in Global Logistics & Operations from University of Sydney, Australia. What will be the career opportunities for him? He also wants to pursue MBA. Your expert advice on this please.

Ans: Graduation degree is not of much importance. So even if he has done HR that should not make a big difference in his career in Logistics and Operations. He can pursue MBA in Operations Management. The top college for Operations Management in India is IIM Mumbai.

Ans: Yes, I think it is a good option. It is a course that is relevant to your field and could give you a growth opportunity if you get a good placement after your course. If you are planning to do a full time MBA (leaving your job) then do check the placement report of the college.

Dear Sir, My daughter will doing MBA in Marketing from this year, she has got offer for admission in Flame University, Pune. Would like to know from you about the University.

Ans: Not much idea about Flame but it will surely not be among the top college. Some knowledge that I have is that it is based out of Pune and the fees or on a higher side but I heard the infrastructure is good. Best way to find about the college is to look at the placement report and talk to the student of the college.

What is the scope of Mba after bds and how much could you earn?

Ans: One can do MBA after doing graduation in any field including BDS. There is score of working in Healthcare sector, Pharma company etc if you want to use your graduation knowledge. Else can change your field and work in Finance, Marketing, etc. Salary will depend on which college you do an MBA from. If you do it from top colleges the average package is around 30 lpa

I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate, 25. I did a lot of trial and error method in my career as I didn’t know what to do. Company X - 6 months (Project management-Electronic based) Company Y - 3 months (Software engineer) Post that, I wanted to get into merchant navy as a marine engineer. I got selected in one of the renowned companies in india and got sponsored, Passed out as a topper and sailed for 3 months until I could realize that this even more harder than anything I had done, both physically and mentally. There are multiple options in other subjects, discipline that you cI suggest you complete your BCom final year and then look for a non accounting job--from sales, project management, marketing.
