I started my job in 2010Dec, I was in same organisation till 2014Feb with UAN number Later when I started new job in Feb 2014 I received new UAN NUMBER, instead of using old number. In 2023, I raised request to merge my account as per new UAN number, but I got only amount transferred but not the service history. How to get my service history also to be updated to get my calculations right during retirement. Please note, I raised grievance twice with epf office, no use

I am meber of EPFO, DEC 1995 TO MARCH 1999 , THEN BREAK & AGAIN JOIN TO EPFO FROM 8 FEB 2006 TILL TODAY, & I HAVE GOT UAN NUMBER FROM FEB 2006 BUT FROM DEC 95 TO MARCH 1999 , THERE WAS NO PROVISON FOR UAN NUMBER, THEN HOW CAN MY LAST SERVICE ADD WITH PRESNT UAN NUMBER

Ans: You may have physical PF slips, documents from your employer which provide details of your EPF account during 1995 to 1999. If you have these records then you can visit EPFO and furnish application to link(merge) this account with your current UAN. They may need a letter from your employer during that phase, attesting the facts about your EPF account.

I left my previous employer job in sep 2014 & joined RIL. Now PF amount of previous employer is transferred to my new UAN no. But previous service period not reflecting in new UAN no. My previous service history still reflecting in previous UAN no. What to do to transfer previous service history to new UAN. My previous employer was Aircel ltd & presently not working in india.

Ans: Hello;

You will need to merge the two UANs and keep only the current one active.

After doing this the service history under previous UAN will come under the new UAN.

If it doesn't happen so, you may raise a grievance with EPFO.

Hi Milind, My age is 41. I worked at my first job from September 2005 till December 2010 and withdrew the EPF and EPS after 3 years of exiting from that job. This EPF account wasn't linked to any UAN. I then worked from December 2010 till August 2013 at second job but there was no EPF facility there. I am working at my third job since August 2013. I checked on PF portal, service history only shows tenure of third job, the EPF account is linked to a UAN. How do I get the service history of earlier jobs added to my UAN so that pension is calculated correctly at the time of retirement? I checked with my accounts department in current company, they said you withdrew in first job and second job no contribution, so service history of those 2 jobs cannot be added to my UAN, is this true? What can I do about this now?

Ans: Hello;

The feedback given by your current employer is absolutely correct.

You have withdrawn EPF & EPS from earlier job and then worked in an organisation where EPF was not applicable so no way that period can be put on service record for EPS purpose.

There is nothing you can do about it.

Ans: You have realistic chances for ECE in newer/lower NITs and several IIITs (especially via later rounds/CSAB). Target IIIT ECE as a strong option and keep some NITs as aspirational.

Ans: Try with IIIT Bhagalpur / Kottayam / Una / Bhopal / Dharwad / Ranchi / Manipur / Kalyani / Surat, and some newer IIITs/lower-demand branches

Ans: She has a good chance of getting a seat in NIT Sikkim, but mainly in lower branches (like Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), not CSE/ECE. Please verify the BOSSE document/eligibility acceptance carefully during counselling.

Ans: Chances with Mechanical are almost nil/dim. Lower/newer NITs may be possible in lower-demand branches, depending on category/home state, so stronger realistic options are state colleges, GFTIs, private colleges, or CSAB opportunities

Sir my son got CRL 27265 GEN category. Home state is Gujarat. Need your guidance for admission in CSE or related branches. Preference NIT,IIIT, PVT

Ans: Your son has realistic CSE/related options with newer/lower-cutoff NITs only in less-demanded branches, but much stronger chances in good IIITs and reputable private colleges. So prioritize IIIT CSE/IT over lower NIT non-CS branches if CSE is the fixed goal.

My Daughter details:- 98.22 Percentile. Category: General Female. Rank: 28,268. Can she get CSE/ECE in Tier 1 NITs.

Ans: Chances with top-tier 1 NITs are almost dim/nil. But she can target strong newer/mid NITs for ECE and several good IIITs for CSE/ECE, with a female quota for sure-shot admission/success.

Considering CRL of 33000 for my daughter in General category, what are the possibilities of core branches particularly Electrical and Mechanical in NIT like Calicut, Nagpur (home state) and Rourkela? Also which NIT she can aspire for if she opts for Chemical. Will IIIT-Nagpur be a good choice if she plans CSE/ECE.

Ans: Electrical/ECE/Mechanical in top NITs like Calicut, Rourkela, and VNIT Nagpur are NOT possible. Mechanical/Chemical or lower branches in mid/lower NITs are possible. Prefer NIT (Chemical/Mechanical in decent NITs) over IIIT Nagpur unless your daughter is strictly CS-focused.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a JEE aspirant who recently appeared for the Maharashtra State Board HSC examination and secured 65%. However, as per the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains, a minimum of 75% is required. I would like to inquire whether I should appear for the class improvement examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board. Specifically, I wanted to understand if appearing for the improvement exam in July is a worthwhile option, and whether it can significantly increase my overall percentage. Ans: Yes. Appearing for the improvement exam is a worthwhile option if you can realistically raise your aggregate to 75%+, because improved marks are generally considered for JEE/JoSAA eligibility. But take care that during this exercise, you do not lose a year due to a delay in the results. Make a wise decision after considering all angles. You did not mention the score of the JEE examination in your question. Hence, it is not possible to guide you to the point.

Sir , My daughter got 98.17 percentile and 30600 rank in JEE mains . She is the general category student . We live in Noida . She did her 12th from Delhi School . What are her chances in getting CSE or E&C in any good NIT or IIIT based on all the above said inputs . Will we get the seat in these branches in NIT or IIIT . If not please suggest any good GFTI also . We are planning to fill JAC Delhi counselling also . Apart from this should we go for any other counselling or keep any Private institute as a back up option . Please advise .

Ans: She has chances in ECE and in lower-cutoff CSE at newer NITs/IIITs, along with very good IIIT options. She should definitely pursue JoSAA + JAC Delhi + state/private backups (e.g., LNMIIT/Thapar/Jaypee if available), as top NIT CSE is unlikely, but quality NIT/IIIT/GFTI outcomes are very achievable.
