I am holding the following shares. THESE SHARES ARE IN VERY BAD SHAPE & CREATED ME HEAVY LOSS. Pls. suggest me whether to Hold, Buy on dips or Exit. I am a small investor invested a meagre amount of 1.25 lakhs spread across various years (not a single time investment).

My father have sold property at 60 lakh and want to divide the amount between us ( we are 2 brothers) to purchase individual properties. But if they gift us then long term capital gain tax of 7.5 lakh is applicable on same. Please advise if he can take 2 properties on his name jointly with us. And if we can apply laon for extra amount that will occur on buying those two properties. Here, I meant 2 separate loans ( one on my name and 1 on my brother name). We want the resolution to avoid capital gain tax and separate properties buying for me and my brother.

Ans: Yes he can purchase 2 properties and claim exemption under Sec 54, (this option is available only once in lifetime).
However, it is suggested to consult CA in order to make calculations and conscious decision with complete details before taking action as there are various factor to be considered before

Both Husband and Wife are having Long Term Capital Gains from sale of listed shares and redemption of units of equity mutual funds, but at different level. Can both jointly purchase one residential property as per the provisions of Section 54F of Income Tax Act to claim tax exemption. If so, in what terms?

Ans: Yes you can purchase one residential property within2 years or construct within 3 years provided you do not own more than one property already.

Exemption = Long term capital gain * Amount re-invested / Net consideration

I have taken a policy from SBI Life insurance Retire Smart plan. The policy is for 10 years with a premium payment for 5 years. I have taken the policy in February 2020 and with this month 5 yearsare completed. Now, I want to come out of this. How can I come out with minimum loss.? Can I surrender or close?

Ans: Hello;

Even if you surrender now you can get 60% of your fund value, after deducting charges, and for the balance 40% you have buy an annuity from SBI Life.

This is as per terms and conditions mentioned in the brochure of this plan.

With 97.7 %tile, under OBC-NCL, female category, she may get admission in one of the NITs but not surely in Trichy. You may have to compromise the NIT and branch.

For the All India Quota (AIQ) in NEET, only the central OBC-NCL list is considered. If your OBC-NCL certificate is from your state but your caste is not in the central OBC list, then it will not be valid for AIQ reservations. If your caste is in both the state and central OBC lists, apply for a central OBC-NCL certificate to use it for AIQ in NEET.

Under the ST category, your son can get admission to one of the NITs. But the chances of getting AI+ML may be challenging. Hence keep other branches' options open. Best of luck to your son.
