I am having CTC of 16L and do not have any EMI, I can invest 30k a month. Which regime can help me to save maximum tax and how ?

New tax regime would be best for you as the tax savings could range between Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 54,000 depending on the tax saving investments you have.

Ans: Person should select tax regime based on eligible amount of deductions/exemptions under both tax regime. Usually when person is eligible for maximum of specified limit old tax regime is beneficial.

I feel in your case old regime may not be beneficial even after all tax savings under 80-C, 80-D & 80CCD(1b).
